: So fess up, what was yall's favorite pioneer junk food?

Doughnuts. Definitely doughnuts, joel bear. And Hostess fruit pies: those gooey treats that for some strange reason, have a longer shelf life than plutonium.

While I never pioneered I do remember my favorite car group food. It was served somewhere are the OTHER side of the territory. A VERY long drive usually *S*

Mickey D's was the fave 'hovah stop in my area. So, french fries were my junk food of choice while annoying people at their homes.

We had a little cafe, near the KH, called Country Donuts. They made their own donuts, and had great soup and yummy sandwiches. Princess got a job there, and suddenly it became the rage for anyone "out in service" to go, for lunch, brunch, or just a donut. Both congregations could be found there about 11, every Saturday morning (closed Sundays). When Princess made the coffee, it was drinkable. Then the boss found out she was putting two packets into the machine, instead of one, and that stopped. Otherwise, it was a great stop for a snack.

I just remembered another favorite. When my best friend got her drivers license - that spelled freedom for this 14 year old. We would Auxillary Pio during the summers & sometimes go out by ourselves.

Some days this was our meal plan:

    Fries from McDonalds
    Frosty from Wendy's
    Taco's from Taco Bell
    Slurpees from 7-11
    Dessert from Dairy Queen

See, there just wasn't one place that had it all. We never stopped our time either (shhhhhhhhh! we would leave a magazine {back-issue}in the bathroom)

Teee Heeee - ahhhhh the memories of quality time in service.

Of course our "return visits" were often to school friends. We would be invited in and hang out just long enough before the car group would get worried about us.

    ARRGH I almost forgot.

If we had 'real' money we would go to Perkins for lunch. Hot turkey sandwich with french fries to dip in the turkey gravy. With a drink it came to about $6 per lunch. And, you could easily burn an hour!

We used to go to the Sat morning bookstudy (gave us an extra free night and an excuse for no service 1st thing in the morning) we would take breakfast tacos for the group...after the bookstudy we would have coffee and the tacos..lol by then everyone was to lazy to do much door to door and so we would go on calls....

and of course there is always the JW staple of DONUTS!!!!

uuummm what is a mojo dinner??
