Oompa, I've never thought about googling 607BCE before so I just did. Wow! What a ton of info! I've been reading site after site. Others need to check this out too.

    More power to you!

I forgot to mention, an elder I've known for years...although never outright saying it's BS, when he talks about WT articles, GB directives, how things are done...etc. I can just tell by his body language, rolling eyes, and shaking head, that he doesn't buy it.

AWAKE: vasectomy may produce profound mental anguish in a man and may even lead to madness, he stated.
quirky1: That's the reason for my madness!!

LMAO!....glad you help with your diagnosis....i could not believe the 10 or 12 watchin the worlds that were all about the horrors of vasectomies.......oompa

    vasectomy a no-no?

I've been out for some time and was not aware of this prohibition. When did it start? I received a vasectomy in 1989 and I was a ministerial servant at the time and the elders were all aware of the operation.

donny it is now a conscience matter but they are quite against it and some elders still cause grief over it.........oompa

We still have many friends in the organization. They all want a specif reason why we left. If I mention a specific like education they say "oh, just do what you want". You want the kids to play sports? "just don't advertise it, let them play". Absolutely anything goes. Have another friend considering a vasectomy (a no no according to his elder body) his wife told me we are just going to get it anyway. I say being in the truth is too big of an investment of time to be living another life underground. If my kid is in college or playing soccer, I want to be proud of him and go to games on Saturday mornings. I think most of them think it is BS and they just do their own thing on the down low.

Oompa, Many are stuck because of family. Shunning etc. Back in the nineties a long time elder told me it was all a facade. The elderly ones are stuck. They have invested their youth and strength to this organization, they have no retirement, pensions etc. to fall back on. Some families will disown you if you leave for any reason.

Then there are those who know the truth about the truth and are doing nothing about it.

Many are still captives of a concept, living an illusion.

Dr. John Peter Blandez, professor of urology at London Hospital, England

I smell something fishy, I couldn't find one mention of this chap in any search I did. The fact that it doesn't mention which hospital also rings alarm bells.

I wouldn't like to leap to conclusions but someone who is a professor should have published something.
