want to say what you said: "i want to make it seem like it's the org that forbids it".

I want to plant seeds without them telling other jws somthing that will get me on the apostate radar

yes but how old are your children? kids cant necessarily distinguish the impracticality of those restrictions. Are they really able to understand the difference between the org and God?

the WTS makes very sure to create the understanding, unsconcious or otherwise, that these rules come from God. You may only be furthering the guilt that so many ex-JW's live with when attempting to have a normal life and enjoy holiday celebrations.

"the songs not about cristmas, but about jingling and rocking"

And she sussed that out all by herself? Good for her! You should be proud, DC!

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bell Rock, Sleigh Ride, Frosty the Snowman, Let it Snow, Winter Wonderland are all seasonal songs. They are certainly apropos at this time of the year. Since your daughter has come to this realization on her own, arguing about seasonal songs may teach her a lesson about the irrationality of the Society (without going full-bore "apostate").

Boy what a great way to screw up there heads. Since you do not plan to send them to collage. Why don`t you set up a head doctor fund for them they are going to need it. Why does santa not love me and give me presents like the other kids. Children love Xmax, Why do you have to screw it up for them.

Cheech it's hard being "in" when your mentally "out" I know with families it's difficult. But I would just be as relaxed as possible with the kids...except when a Witness was watching!

When I was still in in 86...and single..I was living with an elder, the PO in fact, and his wife...and I had a George Michael tape. On that tape was the song "Last Christmas"...and do you know I was missing Christmas so bad, that I played that damn song over and over again because it was NOT a Christmas Album and it was just "thrown in there" with other songs??

Also...the Messiah was not meant to be a Christmas thing either, but you pretty much dont hear it unless it is Christmas time.

Your poor baby girl. Its such a beautiful time of year. I feel for her and for your dilemma. Dont correct her. Just let her sing. Its only a couple more weeks.

Your child isn't baptized.. you are. She can sing whatever she wants.. she's not baptized. She can dress up for halloween if she wants...she's not baptized. let her make the decision when she is all grown up like 30 or so if she wants to get baptized and stop singing jingle bell rock.

my wife is liberal enough that we are putting $$$$ monthly for our kids college fund. my wife's only request is that she go to a local one where she can come home at night
