    I remember the illustration using a pencil and the speaker would start at the eraser and go down the pencil.
    We are at the lead, no brothers and sisters we are at the point, the tip of the lead of this pencil. Very dramatic.
    This was years ago, wonder where we are at on that pencil now?

    I remember that one Purps. I guess now we're on the extreme end of the tip of the pencil, just barely holding on lol.

    I wouldn't be surprised at all if they go into a high pressuring mode since there is so much information ( Net )

    being put out about them. In a effort to counter balance this information tactics must be put forward and implemented, the thought of loosing

    all of this money and power must be sub-consciously in their minds.

    Do not be surprised on any further changes in the future.

    I'm in the belief that they eventually change the name of the organization and maybe even the name of the WTBS. when its deemed necessary,

    in an effort to completely separate themselves from the JW identity.......stay tuned

    To be a dub is to wake up every morning praying for a miracle, despite the odds against it. I often think now that the dub experience was like buying a lottery ticket 30 years ago and checking it every week and then playing the same numbers over again. After awhile, you realize there is virtually no chance of winning... but every week you get to renew the dream. And the dream becomes the reality.

    I can't help thinking there is incredible anxiety among dubs right now, given the economic meltdown - which is not like anything seen by most JWs (except for those approaching 100 years of age). Dubs thriving on things getting worse, and things are definitely "worse" now, so the groupthink is that this must be it, right? And when it's not, then what? Just as the Great Depression wasn't, WWII wasn't, the '60s cultural revolution wasn't, the Cuban Missile Crisis wasn't, the Fall fo the Berlin Wall wasn't, and so on down through time. How long can people continue to rally, only to be let down once again?

    I am so glad to be free of that mindset.

    Yet another boring analogy.

    This illustrates a logical fallacy (perhaps a new type?) that JW's excel @: "proof by analogy" (or metaphor, folk tale, urban legend, parable, fable, allegory, legend, moralizing story, simile, or anecdote).
