  Yoyo, After a brief hope that you were a regular person, you turn out to truly be a jerk. Sheesh.

  Tweetie, As I tried to say a while back about the UN thing, its a periphoral issue. I knew the WTS would simply poo poo it and the matter is actually too complicated for most witnesses to put together to formulate a conclusion that the situation was bad.

  Even if they did, the men are imperfect thing protects the governing body from criticism from the faithful.

  Because of the shunning issue, few of us get to have their cake and eat it too. If I could bite my tongue and live a life of lies, all my family and friends would still accept me, even though I would despise myself.

  Coming out for what you really think and who you really are is a difficult decision with numerous complications. Only you can determine which path carries the greater cost and/or the greater reward.

  What do you care more about, having an honest organization with integrity which practices what it preaches, or protecting a currupt, lying, hypocritical organization at any cost?

  Farkel: It is an honest organization. The UN did not prove that. It was blown up by apostates to make it look dishonest. The watchtower explained their position very well. Someone posted that letter from them.

  Hey YoYo...the 'apostates' did something that the spirit-directed, Jesus governed, blessed by Jehovah organisation...couldn't. Inform them of their appalling hypocrisy in being connected with the wild beast. Jeez...where's the thanks!

  That letter that explains it away has holes in it that I could drive a Mack truck with trailer through SIDEWAYS. It's obvious that honesty is unimportant to the WTS or you, so Farkel's comment stands.

  But the general leaning of the whole thing is that it will be little noticed, in the short term. That is especially the case with the JW's, themselves.

  In the long term, it will be reviewed by many people and those with minds that truly function will see the faults. You see, it will be retained and on record, archived for anyone who researches, indefinitely. That is one of the functions of this board and other repositories.

  yo yo, don't you mean it was exposed by apostates to show how dishonest it is. I don't care how loyal you think you are to the organization, wrong is wrong. You cannot condemn something for decades and then jump in bed with it, whatever lame excuse you might want to come up with.

  Let me ask you this. Assuming that at one time Jehovah actually DID use an organization as his mediator for mankind as he did the Israelites, what's to stop him from divorcing himself from them for acts that go contrary to what is right?

  All of my life I heard that when a congregation was not progressing, it was because Jehovah removed his spirit from it, all because some bozo had a secret sin, such as the PO having an adulterous affair with a sister in the congregation. If that is true, what's to keep him from removing his spirit from the GB (or the entire organization) for committing adultery with the UN?

  It's the same principle. In the case of a congregation, everyone suffers over the act of one brother. The whole organizaion could suffer because of the one act by the GB member that applied for and signed the application to become a member of the UN.

  Honestly, do you not see any similarities between the GB of today and the scribes and pharisees of Jesus' day? I certainly did several years ago when I was a loyal dub, before I ever thought of looking on a website considered "apostate."

  I was hoping for more out of the UN scandal myself. Unfortunately, it is easy to forget just how many of these things the WT has gotten itself out of in the past and how it will continue to survive by distorting and misrepresenting it's actions and mistakes.

  I know of a few people, and I myself did it as well, we lingered in a certain spot where we knew the WT was wrong but kept stalling when it came to taking action. We were looking for something big, something that would cause many would wake up and would spell the end of the WT and we'd all go packing our bags together.

  Sooner or later, you reach this point when you just make a decision. For me, it was a Sunday meeting when I was putting on my shoes to head out the door to pretend for one more morning. But for some reason that day I just took off my shoes and realized I was finished.

  You know your destiny as far as this matter goes. Nothing will stop the eventuality that you will leave the WT. But right now you are making excuses and wasting time that is the rest of your life.

  When the time is right, and it is soon, you will know it and you will do what has to be done. This is a personal decision. Whether your friends or family underdstands is besides the point. It is what it always has been about to a few people - the truth.

  Path
