Concur. I hate the things.
Actually they have been banned, not because they sexulize kids and teach girls that they're objects; but because there's a trade secrets fight between Matel and whoever came up with them.
I just have this mental picture of a five page WT article stating the obvious about them. Although from the sales stats maybe it isn't obvious.

Have you noticed those Jarod Jewelry commercials?? It's like women are not only just objects for a man's sexual gratification, they only care about the bling. Women only want your money/jewelry, and the way to show what a great guy you are, is to buy stuff for her.

No problem. I have to wonder about the mentality of the people that buy those things for their kids. Or for that matter Britany Spears CD's. Or anything related to Hannah Montana. I guess P.T. Barnum was right.

Well it's been my experience that bling works. Or at least doesn't hurt. Some years ago Robert A. Heinlein said that money is an excellent aphrodiasiac. Flowers are a close second.

All I know is that if I am looking at a man as a potential.................potential, I sure as heck am not looking at anything like diamonds. Flowers are cool, I can't deny I melt for flowers, but that is different, and has nothing to do with money. If a guy I was dating started throwing money and "things" at me, without thought or feelings behind it, I would have to move away. Thoughtfulness is one thing, materialism is another. We should be teaching our girls to be confident in themselves, choosing a guy for his personal virtues not.............................never mind, I'm dreaming.
