When I turned forty (I'm 42 now) I realized how much better life was becoming. I have my health, loads of energy. But now I have money, a stable job, and most of all experience. I can get things right the first time, rather that suffer from making a whole bunch of mistakes. I guess what I'm saying is you can benefit from your past, learn from it. You are seasoned at forty, yet you are young and energetic. At least that's how it has been for me.

To me it took forever to reach 30. After that, the next ten years seemed like a week. After 40, birthday's were blah. I wanted them to go unnoticed. Still do.

Forty was the toughest, at every birthday since I say I'm 39. (I pretend to be joking)

A surprise birthday party? I didn't think it was possible but my (2nd) wife pulled it off for my 40th. She rented a hall with a DJ and invited about fifty people. It was held two weeks after my birthday. I was surprised and it was very uplifting that one year I needed it the most.

To answer your question, I think most are effected by age in some way. There is no set age although advancing into a new decade seems to be the hardest.

That sounds about how 40 should be!

I hope his recent 'mistake' (( http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/9/169061/1.ashx )) was the last then......

    Thanks

So since it wasn't 'gag' filled it was all good...... I could do something low-key private and 'polished'

Hmm maybe I will plan it that way....

    Ynot...

    In 2009 I will turn 40.

I don't think it will be that big of a deal.

    Well.. yes... it's a landmark.

But I think harder was 30.

    My 30 was great.

My 35 kind of sucked - because I was divorced at the time - and was wondering where I was head.

But by 40 - you're kind of settled in who you are.

But I think 30 is big. I think 30 makes you look back at their life and wondering what they did with it.

    Happy future 40th B-Day Confucious!!!!

So for you it is about being happy and satisfied at where your life is at these landmark ages.

........ that is something to chew on for awhile........

I haven't asked him directly if he is happy.....penciling that down in relationship journal....

I knew asking you guys would be enlightening........ you boys should talk more to us girls, we do love to hear yalls testosterone filled voices as a bonus to your espoundings on subjects......

    Thank you so much Confucious

Cuticle cream isn't just for women ......ya know.

Heck if cream is too fluffy for ya......try keeping your cuticles hydrated by running a tube of chapstick across them.

Most women find men's hands very sexy and if lucky....useful.

My hubby was also very into not wanting to get old...It bothered him terribly...little did he know he wouldn't live long enough to see it.
    All that worrying for nothing.

Not wanting to get old is probably what drew him to being a Witness...

What I did notice is that if people hang around with younger people they seem to be more conscious of getting older.. more so than if you hang around with your own age group or a little older. (Not too old or you will get older prematurely.).

My daughter just turned 50 and her hubby will be 50 next year. It really bothers them to get older. Now they are in excellent shape and they look great..but they hang around with a late 30's to middle 40's group so they notice the difference. I noticed she was getting botox and he started dying his hair...

I am all for improvment and looking the best you can at any age but I think hanging with people your own age would make a person more accepting of themself...

Just do what his guy friends would do, whenever he complains about it, call him a pussy and flick him shit. Tell him to put on his man pants, because your going to give him a party, and reward him heartily afterward.
