I don't know how you personally feel about doing something, but I would recommend not sweating any 'booth' that the JWs put up.
They are allowed an 'information' booth at the local airport here, and they usually 'man' it with one or two 'pioneers'. I might be mistaken, but they are not allowed to try to snag people... the people must approach them.
If it were me - and they put one up in a local mall that I frequent, I'd just have fun with it - like I do with the one in the airport. If I happen to walk by and someone is standing there being preached at, I usually say something like, "Run! You can still get away!" (accompanied by frantic arm waving) which throws off the JW, and makes the by-stander laugh... and possibly think.
What I noticed about your initial post - was not mentioned by anyone else... and it kinda bothers me more than the JWs trying to set up booths.
"(One local elder is an instructor and another brother is a professor and I think there are one or two other dubs working there.) "
If this is true... and is at a local college...
1) How is it that an 'elder' is able to be an instructor at a college... isn't college education discouraged?
2) How is it that this same 'elder' got an education... which he must have to even BE an instructor?
3) Same goes with the JW professor - I'm not sure about other parts of the US, but here they require degrees for instructors.
4) I would be especially afraid of anything that these characters 'teach' to impressionable youngsters trying to get an education. It seems to be an oxymoron - them teaching, and educating youths... and also preaching 'the end is near'. I would be concerned that any 'education' they are giving would be tainted with JW philosophy.
Very scary.
5) You may not get much support from administrative staff at this college - if they are aware that they employ JWs at their college - who they may deem as 'harmless'.
