My friend just called me from her cell phone, and is out in service, Sunday morning. Complaining like mad. It's snowing here, and she is miserable. Her husband intimidates her into going with him, but she seldom does, unless it's been a really long time.

I, on the other hand, got up at 7 (I can't sleep in.......just can't) made coffee, read this board, and all my emails. My hubby got up, and we sat in the living room drinking our coffee for about an hour, talking about the nice evening we had last night, with Makena and Sabine ....... drinking wine, eating great food, and good conversation. Then I made waffles and we ate a nice leisurely breakfast. More coffee, and read the paper. Now he is watching the football game, and I am back here on the board. But have to get some Christmas cards done too. I may have to buy more. I've gone through 6 boxes!!

I used to hate the weekends. I really hated them!! I can admit it now. It started snowing a little while ago, and I don't have to go anywhere, and only have to watch it progress.

    I love Sundays!

Sundays...aaaaaah... too bad you can't sleep in though... that would be swell.

Personnally, I have to work a little on weekends, but it's not too bad. I'm not complaining. Sundays are so much better without the 2 hour meetings.

Cant beat a Sunday morning with a newspaper, coffee, and here, I put on some really nice Jazz music. Today I listened to Vanessa Rubin's Pastiche album.

I kicked back on the sofa and relaxed.

I know what you mean. I haven't been able to sleep much past 7 since I was about 48. I slept until 8 one time, and jumped out of bed, in shock. I wondered if I was getting sick. It's okay, though. I am more productive in the mornings, and really am a morning person.

What I enjoy doing is watching the JW family from across the road going off to their meeting looking oh-so-happy (heavy sarcasm there by the way) with kids in tow who would rather be out playing or watching tv (or even tidying their rooms for that matter...) and then I enjoy my Sunday morning pottering around and relaxing, plenty of coffee and choccie biccies, Sunday newspapers and colour supplements, coming here. And then I see them traipsing back from the hall and field service looking even happier (more sarcasm of course) and the kids looking very fed up. Boy, do I appreciate my Sundays now. And Tuesday evenings, and Thursday evenings, and every morning of the week when I would drag my heels on the ministry.... Never again.

And I've just realised that Xmas Day is on a Monday this year - there will be a lot of very pleased JWs this year then, they can have their roast dinner with all their trimmings (just because turkey is cheap this time of year and theres no work today... blah, blah, all the usual excuses for having a pseudo Xmas dinner!) and they can even have their 'present day', without having the day interrupted with a meeting!

    Mulan,

Funny you should mention this! I slept in just yesterday morning and had to hurry to pick up #2 daughter who was working at a food bank sorting boxes as community service at noon. On the way back, we had to drive past the KH on the way to the hardware store, and, seeing cars in the parking lot, scoffed, "Those stupid people are still out in service in this nasty weather." And my daughter immediately retorted, with unerring logic and truth, "You used to BE one of those stupid people, not so long ago." And then I bowed my head in grateful prayer.... (well, not actually, but I DID say "I never liked field service, though.") LOL

And my SUNDAY morning went very similar to yours. It's great to actually have leisure time on the weekends.

Got your card, btw. Thanks a million.
