Greedy bastards! I'm much less demanding. All I ask is that everyone send me a 'once in a lifetime' donation of one dollar. I would be content with that.

Hey now! Don't you go and try to butt into my Elsewhere Tax!

For years now I have been lobbying congress to enact the Elsewhere Tax. All I ask is $1 per person per year (USD). That's it! Hell, what's one little dollar per year? Pfffff, NOTHING!

If this is true they are certainly trying to gather as much money as they can, the motion to switch all Kingdom Hall land

titles to the WTS. is another big money grab, when all of the KH property values are considered in N America alone.

They are presenting a big lie if they are stating that they are in a money crunch, hundreds of millions were brought

into their banks recently by sales of properties that they owned in Brooklyn .

People forget that from day 1 of Russell's era that expenditures laid out by individuals to start the WTS. were fully intended

to be recovered by the sales of literature they wouldn't have done it elsewise........and thats the truth

it's ok, i never put $$$$ into their contribution box...... and neither will I send it.

I rather put it into my children's COLLEGE fund.

f**k you Watchtower, you're not gonna get my kids from not getting an education!

ignorance mean poverty, and poverty brings illnesses, illnesses bring brain washed followers to your steps (the EVIL system syndrome)

Would I be correct to assume that they still have to pay for the literature and is considered an entirely seperate issue? Once again, Carla. Let me help you here. You will need to refer back to my earlier comment on correct JW lingo. It is a theocratic "New World" language. One that takes a while to get the hang of. We understand. Witnesses don't PAY for literature. They DONATE for the magazines and books needed for field service AND also turn in any money donated to the worldwide work by the householders. Yes, the literature is an entirely seperate issue, as is the Circuit Overseer's visit with his expenses. (Also broken down per publisher) Once you have a correct understanding of JW issues, you will see that all these "donations," plus using your car (and gas) for field service, traveling to meetings, perhaps paying for hotels while attending conventions and assemblies, and buying approved clothing for all these activities can eat up quite a chunk of money. This is not to mention time. Or the fact that a person who "trusts in Jehovah" would have a four door car, a job that does not interfere with any meetings, few vacations (would interfere with meetings) and an inferior education due to adhering to the "higher education is untheocratic" view, so would have little money left over after paying their "suggested donations" along with everything else. Once again, refer to the JW-induced guilt factor. I know it can take time to fully understand all these theocratic terms. It took me over thirty years to finally realize that although the words are different, the outcome to your pocketbook is eerily similar to passing a plate or tithing. I hope you are a quicker study.

The fixed monthly contribution thing gave me an idea.

The WTBTS should start an MMORPG. World of WatchtowerCraft, and like other MMORPGs charge a monthly fee.

"I'm a level 42 Ministerial Servant! Check out my +3 Bookbag of placement. It gives me +2 Charisma, and it has a 'Summon: Egg McMuffin' ability!"

Oh yes, it'd be real fun.

Salvation must be earned at the rate of $5.70 a month, 10 hours in service and 5 meetings a week.

It's $ooooooo very hard being upfront about pleading for money when you've condemned the churches for being $oooooooo upfront about it. Subtlety is the key.
