Seriously thought, has anyone confirmed whether this letter is actually being read out?
Have not heard of this letter, although our meeting was cancelled last week due to weather. Perhaps it will be read to us this week.
A braver soul than I would raise his hand after this letter was read and ask, "so how much of the $64 million is budgeted to settle child molestation lawsuits this year?"
With Armageddon™ so close you can taste it, why would the Organisation need more money? Couldn't they just survive on their existing cash reserves?
any news on the letter? Any scans available?
When they start giving me $5.70 worth of value a month, then I will start paying them $5.70 a month. Until then, I am not giving them one f***ing penny.
I am just wondering if the original poster is confused, when I was still going we had a suggested figure per Publisher that was sent to finance the Assemblies etc. Our congo.sent the total as calculated and hoped that contributions covered this.
It's not this arrangement that's being referred to is it? Coz if so it aint nuffink noo.

The WTS had a suggested amount per publisher per congregation to pay for CO/DO insurance. The amount had to be paid at the congregation level regardless if enough publishers "donated." Since there is no accounting for what individuals give in the congregation, there is very little they can do to "force" publishers to pay.
It is interesting that they find it necessary to "encourage" donating more and more and not just at the assembly/convention level..
I do believe the WTS is property rich but cash flow poor. I have worked in budget for large institutions and I can tell you that you could own millions of dollars worth of buildings, but without a monthly cash flow, they cannot keep them open.
I haven't seen that letter.
