In our "Cup Final" of football, everybody visits the bathroom at half time , argues about the game and the T V shows "experts" arguing about the game...simple eh?
I actually like the distraction of the big half time show at least for this one game. This one game is so hyped up and so over talked for the days leading up to it, it's nice to have a respite from it for a few minutes.
When you have 4 different ESPN channels, FoxSports channels, Ted Turner sports channels and numerous other local cable sports channels spending day in and day out, dissecting and re-dissecting every nuance of this game it tends to irritate after awhile.
I quit watching the sports channels because they've run everything into the ground so bad, it takes the fun out of watching the actual event itself. And this is true of not just the Super Bowl, but any sport popular in the US. With multiple 24 hour sports channels, they run out of programming pretty quick, so they have to go make stories themselves. That's why whenever the Yankees or the Cowboys fart in the showers a reporter is there to overblow it and make a big deal out of it.
