Should this women be allowed to walk around outside in 40 below winter weather without a winter jacket on ?

I don't see the comparison here. If she freezes to death, then so be it. It was her choice.

With 14 children, we will all have to kick in.

Of course, she is a very shrewd girl. The more attention she gets, negative or not, the more bucks will flow on into the household. So I guess, no harm done?

Depends on what happens to the children.

I really think DHS is going to step in and do something, take the kids or something.

There is no way eight babies can live in that house.

Something tells me that a lot of lawyers are going to get rich off of this one.

Also, she is lying to herself takling about the help from family and friends.

she was laid up in the hospitol for how many months.

If they were going to do anything to prepare for those babies coming it owuld have already been done.

    the grandma is tapped out.

    used and abused.

thank goodness for those kids, she genuinly loves them and by her speaking out will help them all.

I saw a program 'Supernanny" or "Nanny911"..I watch them both and can't remember which I saw it on..

But this couple had 10 kids and needed Nanny's help ..the man had just turnned 50 and get this..the kids are running wild and out of control ..the hubby has taking up drinking and SHE wanted 2 more kids to make it an even dozen...

I bet every time she said that the hubby went and drank from his secret stash!...

She said "I will have my dream..don't take it away...

Nanny straightened them out and showed them the error of their ways..

He joined a AA group and she was made to see how selfish she was as the older kids received no attention from them and were required to watch the younger kids most of the time..

Nanny told them if they wanted that many kids it was their responsibility to watch them! The teens were delighted as they got to have time to do what they wanted.

    I love Nanny...

    The plot thickens....

The womans mother as we know has now been interviewed and said that she didn't even know that her daughter was getting money every month from disability. The woman sat on television and said she didn't need anybody's money to support herself or the kids - but she has been getting food stamps of about $500.00 a month plus government funds for 3 of her 6 kids who are disabled. (That came from a report on the news).

The grandmother also said that she and her husband had spoken to the womans doctor before this, and asked him not to go ahead with another implant because they could not afford to raise the kids and this woman wasn't.

The most interesting part to me though, is going to be the fathers role in all of this. The old boyfriend was apparently the sperm donor for all 14 kids and the first 4 have his last name. The woman did not want to marry him and said that she kept in contact with him a number of times a year.

It is now going to open a pandora's box around accountability and responsibility. The woman is taking a lot of the heat for doing this, the doctor is taking a lot of heat for doing this but the guy has got off - up to now.

What is his responsiblity in allowing his sperm to be used to produce 14 children? He knew she had 6 of his biological kids so should he have had the right to refuse implantation and would he or should he have the right to demand that they be destroyed?

IVF is a business so it will be interesting to see where this whole road leads...sammieswife.

Another twist: Kaiser Permanente is now asking the state of California to pick up the tab for the Octuplets.

In addition, Kaiser Permanente, where her children were born, has requested funding from Medi-Cal, the state's healthcare program for the poor, to help pay for the octuplets' medical care, sources said. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2009/02/octuplets-1.html

She said she has no income but would go back to school and use student loans to help support her 14 children. She said she now has an "alternative source of income" that would probably run out before she returns to school.

"So I have my own way, an alternative way, but it works," she said.

She said she worked double shifts and hoarded money to pay for the in vitro fertilizations, which she used to become pregnant with all of her children.

I thought she was on disability?

    She is wacked.
