No, for I have not offered it as proof of anything. The statement is merely an honest observation. An ad hominem would be, for instance, attacking the character and motivations of someone who posts an article you disagree with, rather than attacking the article itself.

You can also "ask" me to wax your car. What do you suppose the answer to that one will be? At the risk of being repetitive and perhaps patronizing, (I hope not), I offered the article for discussion with no claims regarding its accuracy. For some unknown reason you seem to have taken this as a personal attack upon you. Why you have done this I can not determine. I must admit to being puzzled at your defensiveness and readiness to get into a mud slinging match. Such things are not the basis of my presence here and I will not participate in them. I guess that makes me a moron.

Don't be a smarmy dick. If you "offer" an article, one generally assumes that you are trying to use that article to further your own argument, unless you say otherwise.
