    Oh, and how do I think President Obama's doing?

    He's a good public speaker, not too bright fiscally though. Oh well, all that glitters is not gold.

    BBBBUT BOOOOOOSH! BBBUT BOOOOOOSH!

    Here is some breaking news, Bush doesn't shit in the White House any more. As VDH says, time to get a life. Obama won, time to own up bitch. You are responsible for what you do here on out and this bill is not very encouraging.

    Suspension of disbelief redux

    On her initial tour abroad, Sec. Clinton announced that she would follow an approach that "values what others have to say": "Too often in the recent past, our government has acted reflexively before considering available facts and evidence or hearing the perspectives of others." And then she promised a policy "neither impulsive nor ideological."

    At some point the unifying, bipartisan Obama team should cease all this ad nauseam "Bush did it" since this perpetual campaign mode, when taken abroad, is not healthy for the country in all too many ways:

    1) it assures enemies that their past problems with the U.S. were largely of our own making due to our impulsiveness or ideology, not the fault of their own, or intrinsic differences;

    2) it assures allies that there are not so much honest differences in our relationship as much as agreement that Bush et al were toxic (as if Germany otherwise would have fought well in Afghanistan, and now of course will);

    3) it has a short shelf life: we are into the second month of the Obama administration and have seen really nothing new abroad other than the "we're not Bush";

    4) it only sets up more of the same hypocrisy of what we have seen—hubris leading to nemesis—as inevitably in the bad/worse choices to come, Ms. Clinton will find herself often simply continuing existing (Bush) policy, and so like Obama on rendition, FISA the Patriot Act, Iraq, etc. adopt what she trashed;

    5) very quickly Team Obama is using up their good will, as the American people are now quite aware of the tired modus operandi—talk of unity, togetherness, bipartisanship, and then trash your predecessor to lower expectations and magnify your own agenda.

    Time to get a life...

    As much as I despise Bush, this shit burger was tossed on the grill when Clinton was in office.

    To be more accurate, it started with the election of Reagan.

    To be more accurate, it started with the election of Reagan.

    To be even more accurate, it started with Jimmah. But forget this blame game.

    Did you even read the article Beks?

    Oh thats right, the bell rang and you reflexively drooled.

    Clinton did much better after 94. Like I said, divided government has advantages.

    True (there is only one thing that trickles down and it aint money). But Clinton fired that puppy up. My point is, you can't blame this all on Bush.

    This is how one of my friends think Obama is doing.

    Welcome to the USSA

    Welcome to the United Socialist States of America

    A tried and failed way of living

    Forget production

    just slosh money around.

    More government is not the answer.

    It is the problem!

    Just look anywhere where there is federal money

    and it is FUBAR. The reason is:

    It deflates the value of a hard earned dollar.

    A working man doesn't have a sporting chance when

    he is trying to compete with federal dollars.

    His one dollar was worth about 27 federal dollars.

    Because of this so called "stimulas bill"

    tomorrow, or the day after, it will be worth 64 federal dollars.

    The value of his dollar didn't go UP. It's intrinsic value remains the same.

    The value of a federal dollar went down because there are so many more of them to compete against. Our forefathers from the South would not have signed that Consitution without the tenth amendment being attached.

    This is encroachment!

    Welcome to: The USSA.

    A recent poll I heard said Obama's approval rating was at 39%. So what! I doubt McCain would be better right now.

    America has for some time now been in "downward mobility". Meaning, our children are graduating college and starting new careers earning less money than their parents,,,,for the first time in American history.

    There is no history Obama can reflect on to tell him how to get out of this situation or how long it will last. We are in this for a long time IMO regardless of who took office this year.

    If the economic system were just allowed to fail, the pain would be of much shorter duration, but as it is, intervention by government will prolong the duration of the fall AND the pain.

    DJK, all the polls I've seen have him over 60%. Congress' approval is now up over 30%.
