Having seen what the chimp did to the poor woman in Connecticut, should people be able to own pets that are really wild animals?

and "Travis" used to be so sweet.
Travis took the Xanax, that is what happened.
Actually, a chimp is much stronger than a pitbull and is and will always be a wild animal. Dogs are domestic animals; but even dogs have to be trained properly to be safe pets.

That's funny.
I just saw the owner being interviewed. What a sad, sick story.
She said after she stabbed him, "He looked at me like, mom, what are you doing?"
This animal has had lots of run-ins with police, including instances of him getting into cars and driving them away. I wonder why these warning signals weren't enough to get the chimp a proper home.
Xanax is a sedative, and according to the owner, she gave it only 5 minutes before the attack.
In other news, she says chimps and humans can be transfused with each other's blood, because we're so genetically similar. (Hint to badboy, thread idea: CHIMP TRANSFUSIONS, WHAT IS JW VIEW? )
I have heard that most experts on the subject of chimpanzees advise against keeping chimps as pets. Sooner or later, they warn, there will be trouble.
Travis, the 200 pound chimpanzee that took apart Charla Nash, tearing her face off and relieving her of both her hands, was probably three to five times as strong as a 200 pound man. In his chimp mind, he my have been "protecting" his owner Sandy Herrold, from someone he perceived as a stranger. Although Charla knew Travis, she had recently shortened and bleached her hair, and she arrived at her friend's home in a different car. Another possibility is that Travis was having his reaction due to a recent bout with Lyme disease, which is known to sometimes cause paranoia and mood swings in its human victims.
But to compare a chimpanzee to a pitbull is not logical. Pitbulls are a domesticated breed of the wolf clan, and their bloodline has been associated with human society for thousands of years. Incidents of pitbull violence are not a fault of the breed, but due to the training or abuse the animal has received.
This is not the case with apes. No species of ape is domesticated. Beware the coming of Milo!
Apparently my aunt had a chimp at one time and the damn thing shit all over the house. When I was a kid my neighbor had a pit bull that used to come hang out in our yard and it was the most gentle dog you'd ever meet.
I think you're totally wrong, Nathan.
