Having exotic pets seems to be a recipe for disaster. Especially a pet that is considerably stronger than the owner is.

I would have to say obviously not.

As for pit bulls I've only know a few of the and thought they were great animals. I at one time had a neighbor who had one. We lived in a small apartment complex a the time and he would leave her out and she would rome around at will. She would come over and eat out of my cats dish. The cat would hiss and swat at her but it had no effect on the dog. Not much you can do when a pit bull wants to eat out of your dish. Some of the kids in the neighborhood would borrow her and take her to the beach with them. We still have some great pictures somewhere of our cat and the dog playing together.

My father had a little Caputin monkey when he was younger. Said it was always getting into everything. But it was tiny and trained.

Chimps are a whole other matter, very few people have the time or resources to take proper care of them They just aren't pets IMO.

Pitbulls are good pets when they're raised properly. Any breed dog can attack. Golden retrievers bite more people than any other breed but people still have them for family pets.

I saw that woman on the news this morning. She said the chimp was her life! WTF? She slept with it, treated it like it was her kid?

It tried to eat her friend!!

How did we get from Chips to pit bulls?

    Should pitbulls be allowed?

What's wrong with pitbulls? It's a dog. The problem is people who breed and train any dog as a fighter or killer.

Maybe the question should be, "should Michael Vick be allowed"

As for chimps, no...they're a wild animal. While they may be tamed and trained to some degree, it would be difficult for the normal, untrained in animal sciences person to be able to deal with them should they become agressive.

Anyone who would have a wild animal as a "pet" should be committed.

Maybe the cops should have shot the owner, after they took out the chimp.

I wouldn't want any pet in the "wolf clan".
