    Comf,

Hello my friend! Was your post referring to your original assessment of HS? Enlighten me! Remember, let me see, I believe you racked him over the coals. Good job, good intuitive assessment!!

You proved yourself faulty, very faulty on that one!

Was your post referring to your original assessment of HS?

You know that it wasn't. However, I'm willing to discuss that subject briefly.

    Enlighten me!

I've tried. You steadfastly resist enlightenment. No one can enlighten the unwilling.

Remember, let me see, I believe you racked him over the coals. Good job, good intuitive assessment!!

You're remembering incorrectly; or perhaps you just misunderstood all along. I took issue with some things he said and the attitude that they implied to me. It was not hillary_step, but rather his words, and his thoughts as conveyed by those words, against which I argued. Here's an example quote, written by me to hillary_step, that shows what I was arguing about.

Your speech, your rationalizing, your gentle, soothing sentence structure and acknowledgement of the pain of others, remind me of this scene.

You proved yourself faulty, very faulty on that one!

I have no idea what that sentence is supposed to mean.

Hillary and I have long, long ago made peace over this by private email. I count him as one of my friends; that friendship extends beyond the bounds of this internet forum. Since you are so admiring of my perception and tactics, let me suggest that you follow my example.

Hey COMF: do I get a prize for the correct answer? Cause we both know, the answer is "all of the above".

    Right?

Now go stand under the mistletoe and pucker up, Mommie's gonna take her prize in holiday smackerels on your cute face.

    >You make the mistake in thinking these questions are open for jovial
    >jocular repartee, sorry they are not. You do not understand!!

IW, I've only been on this forum for one evening, and I've seen you do two things:

    A) bitch about what everyone else seems to think is a very clever post that was written by someone who has obviously been here for a while and B) whine about feeling like an outcast.

If you want to know what your problem is, go get a mirror. Nes pa? Might as well start lightening up now, or it's just gonna get worse.

There is a poster here that goads Hillary

Into blowing his top at such trickery

    He said: "Bugger off!"

    Then discreetly would cough

As the attraction was purely capillary.

    IW,

The crux of the debate here, as far as I can plumb it, is simple.

Island Woman fails to find humor in something HS said. Does she have the right to feel that way? And does she have the right to say so?

I think we all have issues wherein we can find little humor and would be offended, if not further hurt, if others found them funny.

Lady IW, I'm with you. I haven't read HS's satire (I will), but whether I think it's funny or not is not the point. You were hurt by it; it brought bitter feelings to the surface of your heart; no one can control how they feel about a matter; you had/have every right to express yourself and have your views understood and accepted, if not agreed with.

Sorry that some here more or less told you to "lighten up." Their response was wrong.

    Take care,
    tj

Yes, Island Woman has the right to feel any way she wishes. Need she comment on it? Not necessarily. Need she start another entire thread about it when she put her comments in the first one? Not necessarily. But she did comment, more than once, and she did start another thread, and thus others here have the SAME right to comment on her posts.

You just replied to a matter without having all the facts. Hilary's thread was quite within the bounds of good taste. While I'll agree that not everyone has the same sense of humor and Island Woman is not amused, please afford other posters here the same latitude that you give IW:

"you had/have every right to express yourself and have your views understood and accepted, if not agreed with."

Now, can we all play nicely, please?

    Exasperated,
