They don't encourage you if they lable you an apostate. I met one of the elders who gave me the boot at the shopping centre. We were having a conversation, all the time he was trying to work out where he knew me from. When he realized who I was : he mumbled something about Satan and took off.

I have to agree with reason 5) at least in my case.
There were some genuinely nice people in my old cong, its just i think the wts has them all so busy they dont have the time to show they care very often.

They don't understand how you can be happy as a non JW. (misery loves company)
It irritates- confuses them that you know what it's all about and still have left.
More numbers in congregation.
They are scared of blood guilt of not getting you back.(lose carrot of eternal life)

I was stating the policy. They haven't tried with me either.
