I think you may get more suit coat-skirt combos at business conferences...

But the funny thing is, at conferences like those (business, medical or scientific) you are respected and honored based on merit. If your research or presentation is well done and stands up to critical questioning then you get a pass.

At the Hall or at converntions etc you only pass if you LOOK like you fit a particular pigeonhole. I hated that at the meetings... I was smart, sensitive, genuinely spiritual (I really was!! I wanted to "please Jehovah"...!)- but I got holy hell because I didn't fit their image of what a submissive little sister should look like

I have been to Sullivan. My family used to be close to a family there... I think it was sullivan..always get them and Union mixed up

In a very ironic way, I remember certain sisters wearing fairly short skirts back in the 60's, 70's and 80's

but not one pant suit. Not that I complained very much

Snakes, Sullivan is by the Meramac Caverns and the Meramac river..I knew a brother that drowned in that river after he had went through surgery in Texas (bloodless) for a ruptured appendix..ironic wasn't it?

Union is out the same highway, that is where my son lives. It is about 10 or 15 minutes from Sullivan and has a great Chinese Buffet in town..

I have only been to the Sullivan KH one time, when my Hubby had his memorial there. My MIL said she occasionally wears pants and so do many of the other sisters, that is how I know.

Funny thing..we came out of the hall after the memorial and there was a brother smoking on the porch..I asked my MIL about it and she said that he had so long to quit before they would do anything..but he was a baptised brother! It is from what I saw a very laid back hall.

Sullivan KH sits right between two highways..my MIL almost bought the house on the same lot as the KH..we talked her out of it. Way too noisy..and they wanted way to much for it..crooks...
