Hey Cade! Welcome sweetie. I hope you are still around. We all know what it's like to have our hearts broken. I think I was in shock for at least 2-3 weeks when I found out. There are lots of good people here and amazing scholars as well. Take your shoes off and stay awhile.

Hello and welcome. If it helps, my wife and I are a success story where we both left the faith at about the same time early last year. I was the first to leave, and it was difficult at first. She became even more spiritual and made sure to get to all meetings and do a lot more service.
However, I would bring up little things about why it's not the truth, and slowly it sunk in, but very slowly at first.
What worked for my wife is she on her own researched the history of the WTS on Wikipedia (non-Apostate site), and the crazy past just doesn't show how it could be the truth. This really put a lot of doubts in her head, and made it easier for her to open up her mind.
We'd be glad to share more if you like, just let me know...

I just found this thread too - May I add my welcome to Cadelin..
It is great to hear from someone who found out the truth about "The Truth" and it moved you to do something about it..Too many Witnesses are complacent and make excuses for the WTS.
I was shocked when I found out about the miss quotes (I have AlanF to thank for that) . I had taken group studies in the Creation Book , I had stood up and taught people from it. I could only have done that if I believed that it was right, or at least 100% intellectually honest as far as the writers knew...The blatant miss application of other writers material disgusted me. I was already out mentally by then.
I was disappointed that when I shared these things with other Witnesses (discreetly) They just Hmm'd and said that they did not think the Society were wrong to use the information that way.....!!!
I guess that you are one of those that the Society would call "honest hearted"..willing to examine your religion and act on what you find...Or perhaps they would call us something else???

Cadellin, you mention the Creation and Evolution book having a lot of misquotes? My experience with JWs all started when I prayed that the JWs would ask "Are you interested in the issue of Evolution and Creation?", which is exactly how the call (that was actually marked DNC from the week before) was started! I had a friend that was taking remedial high school and he wanted something to argue Creation against his Evolution teacher.

hi cad
shame to lose your faith in Jehovah over imperfect publications and the creation book is an old one and could only reflect the evolution knowledge at the time, selective quoting happens if someone says something, they have to accept it will be quoted even if they have said it against their own ultimate beliefs on a subject.
I took the time to look into evolution theory myself and found it to be a mix-match of ideas often conflicting from many different scientists that will never give definitive answers because they like to be able to allow for changing there minds lol they fit the disclaiming in straight away of it being a work in progress (flip-flopping is to be expected in evolution now very little resemblance to darwins original words) but contrarily since they come to every piece of 'Evidence' from the assumption of evolution as fact, they then can only try and fit it/explain it within that framework.
As believers in God we do this too, it a not a really a fense sitable situation unless you are unwilling to contemplate our origins at all.
I personally think Evolution is ultimately self-defeating and will discover itself to be impossible but getting a scientist who earns his money through it and lifes work on it, to admit this is doubtful.
I wish you well but think you are making a mistake to allow men's imperfections stop you seeing the greater truth on the only inspired of God writings as the bible is despite itself being transaltions of original writing the truth still comes through Hense why I do think Jehovah's witnesses have a greater biblical truth of all religions revealed to them despite waiting on Jesus for perfection that is still in the future.

P.s I do not idolise Laia Although I think she is extremely intelligent but definitely biased against witnesses in viewpoint.

good morning, Reniaa! There's some PMs from me you haven't got back to me on, but then I know you get scam mail, which no doubt jars the nerves sometime.

Is there something going on between you and reniaa WT Vassal? LOL
Reniaa, abadnoning a pseudo Christin cult such as the JW does not mean one must write off God in their life. Many leave the JW and come to Jesus for the first time in their life...something the WT does not allow its members to do.Spike Tassal the WT Vassal has a thing for you I see.
