Six , as I said before I'm for the use of marijuana for medical purposes and I agree there is an established hypocrisy regarding the sale
and commercialization of alcohol, there is already a known problem with that product, I used to have one in a matter of fact.
And given a choice of being with some pot heads or some alcoholics I'll take the group of pot heads , they're dam nicer to be around.

Pot IS an addictive substance. Period.
Not for most people, it's not. I mean, by some loose definitions of the word "addictive", Porn is an addictive substance. So is masturbation. Hell, so is going to the Kingdom Hall, for some people. By the classical definition of the word, chocolate is more addictive than pot - by far.
A 1998 French governmental report commissioned by Health Secretary of State Bernard Kouchner, and directed by Dr. Pierre-Bernard Roques, classed drugs according to addictiveness and neurotoxicity. It placed heroin, cocaine and alcohol in the most addictive and lethal categories; benzodiazepine, hallucinogens and tobacco in the medium category, and cannabis in the last category. The report stated that "Addiction to cannabis does not involve neurotoxicity such as it was defined in chapter 3 by neuroanatomical, neurochemical and behavioral criteria. Thus, former results suggesting anatomic changes in the brain of chronic cannabis users, measured by tomography, were not confirmed by the accurate modern neuro-imaging techniques. Moreover, morphological impairment of the hippocampus [which plays a part in memory and navigation] of rat after administration of very high doses of THC (Langfield et al., 1988) was not shown (Slikker et al., 1992)." Health Secretary Bernard Kouchner concluded that : "Scientific facts show that, for cannabis, no neurotoxicity is demonstrated, to the contrary of alcohol and cocaine." [ 70 ]

I agree with Six, that pot isn't really addictive of a substance in comparison to the other known drugs and I'm an old pot smoker.
Course I've haven't smoked much of the stuff thats out and about now, I hear its very kick ass .

Yea, they all are. I'm not picking on pot, as I believe y'all can see, but to say it's more innocent than it is, is disingenuous.
I'm struggling with one of these addictions right now.
