Odd, eccentric, weird, peculiar, unusual, different; I've been called all those - plus more!

Don't you think it's strange that we're all considered strange??
What do you make of it, LadyLee?

Some of the most screwed up people I've known considered themselves "normal."

I was called weird, strange. Members of the congregation were spreading rumors about me that I was mentally ill.
I found out some years later that a sister in my old hall was spreading malicious gossip about me. When I was first dating my wife, this sister in my hall told the wife of a friend of mine at the Kingdom Hall "hasn't Truthseeker told her he has a mental illness?"
Unknown to me at the time, my friends wife actually spoke up for me and told her that what she said wasn't true.
The next time I visit the congregation, an aquaintance of mine told me that a friend in the hall said "Truthseeker is pretending to be normal because he knows he has to be."
I mean, WTF? How can people act like this and then go on the doors preaching?

Thing is, all I wanted was a normal life in the congregation. This was before the days of the internet.
I literally had no friends my own age and this wasn't because of a lack of people, they had all tarred me with the same brush.
Although I forgive in the sense of not allowing them to affect my future, I want nothing more to do with them.
I had a weird upbringing, nothing made sense to me, I was bullied at school every other day. I hated my childhood but I was allowed to play with the worldly kids on my street and I used to hang out with them a lot. Those were the days.

I was labelled as a shopaholic, does that count?
I wasnt really a shopaholic, just your average girl with an interest in fashion. But of course i was a leader not a follower.

Shopaholic doesn't count, Little One.
Not the one on this board, of course.

Many many times.
My favorite was my grandmother, who said I was "touched".
I prefer the company of other strange people.
