LWT, you may be surprised, me being a liberal and all. This is one subject I care very little about. I have no illusion that banning is going to solve our problems, or that you gun lovers are ever gonna give 'em up. Although............I did hear a snippet from a law enforcement type talking about assault weapons, and how messed up it is for them when the bad guys have them. I didn't hear it all, but I got the impression he was for the ban.

You know when I say "gun lovers" I say it affectionatly, right?

I think this might be the case Heller gets overturned on. Simply put it's public property so are city roads, and streets. If the city or county can ban guns on their property. Then the all they have to do is reword the old ordanaces in away that bans them without saying they ban them directly from private homes. If you can't transport a gun or it's ammo legally back to or away from your home it's pretty much banned and useless.

Good point with courtrooms Beks. But certainly a distinction could be and should be made between county land operating under official business and land used for public use. Let the people decide with the understanding that buildings used for official business, courthouses, ect, no firearms. Now planes, I have absolutely no problem with citizens, with a legal permit, to carry a handgun on a plane. Each airline should be able able to decide for themselves their own policy. Then consumers can decide for themselves whether or not they want to fly with that airline.

Wow SF, if you can get a ticket for the trip you can get a permit. My understanding is that it's very easy to circumvent those permit laws. Also, who says the guy that goes nuts hasn't been keeping it under control until this point? We hear that one all the time. I really doubt that any Pilot or crew would want to deal with that kind of uncertainty in the cabin.

Seems like the American Constitution is more precious to some here than the 'Holy Bible' ever was!
