    Hey all,

I have noticed many of the elders in my hall are now calling the WTBS "Mother" from the stage during their talks now. It happens at least once per meeting. Anyone else notice this?

I wonder if there was any direction to start doing this so as to soften the borg in the witnesses eyes???

As a mother, I find it extremely offensive. Many times people on this site have used the term. There is absolutely nothing mother like about the WTBS.

Most of my KHs Elders are converts so if they started using that term I would suspect them of lurking on JWN or similar site!

...then again a 87' convert Elder recently said 'racket and a snare'...

Mother is only tossed around by us non-converts in FS occassionally......

One of the greatest loves, allegiances and loyalty that a child has is to it's mother. The WTS uses the term so that over time, your first love, loyalty and allegiance is to them...ditto the term friend, brother and sister. sammieswife.

I've never once heard anyone use this expression in Australia. In what context is it generally used? Do they just use the word "Mother" in the same way they would say "The Society"? That sounds so weird.
