    Bonafide,

Yet that doesn’t stop them knocking on doors teaching others!

It’s like someone trying to teach higher mathematics …when they don’t know their timetables.

I've been on some studies with elders that were in the organization for 50 years

and were not able to defend the " trinity" or that Jesus is not God which should be a very easy subject for every witness.

I said it before, most witnesses are spiritually lazy or truly have no love for god's word.

Let's call them zombies of the watchtower society.

No they don't have a clue...Specially the new ones(came into the Org after 1995)and the young ones. I recall in our time 80's and mid 90's, we had more knowledge than now. Those who had a Bible study had to go through the Live for Ever book, and generally we were reading more the Bible. Elders were more mature at that time and they had knowledge.

In the year 2009 many things change in the WT world. Meetings have drop to 2 times a week. The hours of regular pionners are almost half of those in the 80's and WT study articles are boring and so their puplic talks. The leadership of the WT is focusing only on ONE THING:

    PRACTICE WHAT WE TEACH

BELIEVE WHAT WE ARE TELLING YOU AS A DEVINE TRUTH

YOU CAN HAVE PERSONAL RELATION WITH JESUS

JESUS IS TALKING ONLY THROUGH US

IF YOU DON'T LISTEN TO US YOU DISOBEY TO JESUS

Simple as that. That is why JW's are ignorant of their faith and what their Organization was preaching in 1914, 1925, 1975

They do not know how to prove their doctrines. If you had to ask for a straight answer on any of the doctrines, they will run around in circles, taking the scenic route and hope you forget your question along the way.

How many Lutherans know THEIR doctrines? And how many Catholics? Does it NOT boil down to feelings / emotions among Catholics?

That might be a valid point....if Catholics and Lutherans printed hundreds of millions of magazines, tracts, and brochures annually, condemning "false religion" because of its doctrines and trying to "prove" Biblically why they are right and every one else is wrong.

I.e., the whole foundation of JW orthodoxy is "accurate knowledge". JWs spend 1 billion + hours per year telling everyone they come in contact with that "accurate knowledge" is essential for salvation.

The irony is, for all that blather about "accurate knowledge", the vast majority of JWs would have to dig out their Reasoning book for any question harder than "What is God's name?"

JWs have virtually no knowledge, accurate or otherwise, about what they are proclaiming as essential for salvation.

The JW religion is becoming more and more cultish.

Way back in the day, a JW could go toe to toe with about any preacher in town and back him down using just the Bible. Those days are long gone. They were actually dying as I was coming up. I could never do that, though I could go up against some Bible thumping Southern Baptists at the door and back them down.

But cults don't necessarily want their members to know doctrine inside and out, they just want them to obey and donate and work for free.

In the last 30 years the Society has been working to clamp down on independant thinking and outside research. Too many people were connecting too many dots and coming up with results that didn't jive with WT doctrine.

In initiating this dumbing down of the flock, they basically created two groups of people....those who can't be contained and eventually realize they're being controlled and work to free themselves. Most of us are in this group. The second group are those who have remained loyal to the organization. It's not that they're dumb or slow or anything, it's that they've never questioned or rebelled. They've accepted the teachings at their word and are content or happy where they're at.

This higher degree of control has upped the percentage of people who want out. We see the number of disgruntled rise and think the Society is in its death throes but that's not necessarily the case.

As the Society circles the wagons and plays the cult card, it may usher out the free-thinkers and the rebellious natured ones, but in their place, those that stay and don't question become even more entranced by all things WT.

You're seeing it in action. You present WT information that uspets what they've been fed from the platform and they get uncomfortable. They've never reasoned on anything, never thought about anything. They accept what they're told and continue on their way. They're all a bunch of WT zombies repeating the things the Soceity wants them to repeat, never thinking, never questioning. Someone comes along that poses questions or tries to get them to think and its like forcing a vampire out into the sunshine.

The metomorphisis from quirky, off-center sect religion to high mind control cult is becoming more complete.

They are not encouraged to think critically. Without criticial thinking, they don't really understand their doctrines. They are, in essence, memorizing "routines" in short term memory.

Since leaving I have encountered many looooong arguments about theology and philosophy. I can recount these with ease, yet I could never remember the basis for generation prophecies or anything like that.

I have noticed that one cannot know the whole doctrine of the witlesses by reading their official web site. I did that test with other religions--while I in no way believe they are true either, at least I could find the whole belief system on their official site in one place. I did that with the First Bible Baptist church, and they have all their beliefs on the official site (and very few, if any, ex-member sites).

The only way one can get all the doctrines of Jehovah's Witlesses, without visiting an apostate web site, is to study and become one of them. You will have to actually do what they tell you before they will let you know more--once you are baptized, you will be given even more rules. Of course, even most of the witlesses are not fully knowledgeable of their own teachings--especially since they keep changing the rules.

However, I can describe the lifestyle of the faithful witless. They will go out in field circus pushing washtowels, asleeps, and wastes of paper on householders all day, and go to all the boasting sessions. They will prepare by underlining the material, and only give the answers in the words of the paragraph or mildly paraphrased. There is no room for fun--time spent at the amusement park, the zoo, or hiking in the state park is time that should have been spent in field circus.

The problem for jws is that it is hard to explain something that does not make any sense. The 1914 thing

does not make sense, the 144,000 and great crowd does not make sense. The faithfull and discreet

makes no sense. It is hard to explain to someone why a scripture says one thing but it means something

different altogether. That is why if you ask a jw to explain something they have to refer to the publications

the cut and paste thing. The reason it appears that some jws knew the bible is because they could

do just that. They had this stuff memorized. If someone asked me to explain this stuff I could because

I made a point of studying it untill I got it down pat. But it still did not make any sense. The more you

you explain it the goofier it sounds. No wonder jws just do not want to talk about it.

RIIIIIGHT ON, Sir82!!! In answer to: "How many Lutherans know THEIR doctrines? And how many Catholics? Does it NOT boil down to feelings / emotions among Catholics?"...

You replied: "That might be a valid point....if Catholics and Lutherans printed hundreds of millions of magazines, tracts, and brochures annually, condemning "false religion" because of its doctrines and trying to "prove" Biblically why they are right and every one else is wrong."

That is the thing that I find absolutely mind-boggling about the WTBTS - the FLAMING HYPOCRISY! I am constantly astounded by their flagrant two-faced inability to 'remove the rafter(S!!)' from their own eyes! Funny - that was a significant characteristic of my parents, too... Who were both enamored of the WTBTS/JWs....

I enjoyed everyone else's comments, too, but yours was particularly STRAIGHT 2 the point!! Zid
