I am sure the scriptures talk about what will happen at Big A. I would be very surprised if I am mistaken.

Well, the author of 2 Peter had a rather definite idea about the next "end of the world" (in Stoic ekpurôsis, "fire conflagration" fashion):

They deliberately ignore this fact, that by the word of God heavens existed long ago and an earth was formed out of water and by means of water, through which the world of that time was deluged with water and perished. But by the same word the present heavens and earth have been reserved for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the godless. (...) But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and everything that is done on it will be disclosed.

Whether or how this has to relate to the Armageddon of Revelation is another matter.

Because He wants to waste our time in warning everyone of it, repeatedly, for whole lifetimes before anything happens. And then He will make sure people are still unprepared, and the majority of them will still be destroyed for any (or no) reason.

I’m not sure how that fits in with Ecc 1 v 4, A generation is going and a generation is coming, but the earth is standing even to time indefinite.
