    I agree, you gotta walk!

    Matthew 7:16 (New International Version)

16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

    Galatians 5:22-23 (New International Version)

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

This is a tough one to reconcile with the parable of the lost son.
    Hebrews 6:4-6 (New International Version)

4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, 6 if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because [ a ] to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.

    Or this

1 Corinthians 5:5 (New International Version)

5 hand this man over to Satan, so that the sinful nature [a] may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord.

Anyhow, we know now in part...

    All the best,

Glad you have been reading your bible :)

1 Corinthians 14:1-5 (New International Version)

    1 Corinthians 14
    Gifts of Prophecy and Tongues
1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy. 2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue [ a ] does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit. [ b ] 3 But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort. 4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. 5 I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, [ c ] but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, [ d ] unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified. I love it when my wife exercises her gift of prophecy :) Now are you born again and been baptised in the Holy Spirit? No point asking for a chicken unless you have got yourself an egg, All the best, Stephen

    Romans 1:16 (New International Version)

16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

1 Corinthians 1:17-25 (New International Version)

17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.

Christ the Wisdom and Power of God
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:
    "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate." [ a ]

20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 22 Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

I read the statement of faith for this ministry (shown in part) and have highlighted the unbiblical statement below:

Christ For All Nations uses the following to express its Statement of Faith:

The only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST.

Re generation by the HOLY SPIRIT is essential for personal salvation.

    Why is this a problem?

Here's an excerpt from an essay I wrote:

Once, when some Israelites tried to share Moses' position as mediator, Moses suggested that they burn incense before the Lord and see what his response was. The ground opened up and swallowed the rebels alive into the earth. A short time thereafter when many in the general population protested this action by God, another fourteen thousand were consumed with a plague. They would all have died had not Moses, as God's exclusive mediator, "stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed". Please read Numbers Ch. 16. A careful reading will reveal that Korah, Dathan and Abiram were not so much opposed to Moses and Aaron as they were opposed to the exclusivity of Moses and Aaron.

And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them - Num. 16:3

Although these prominent men had already been given responsibility in the house of God, they sought more than they were given. They "reasoned" that Moses needed some help as mediator between them and Jehovah God. Apparently they wanted some kind of democracy in this position. They clearly went against what God had purposed and received a swift and violent response from the Lord. Why? It is because they were sinners. When they sought to share with (and thus remove) God's exclusive mediator, God granted their request. Hence, there was nothing standing in between them as guilty sinners and the wrath of God demanded by his justice. In other words, without Moses as exclusive mediator, the Law Covenant with it provisions to circumvent the death penalty were off the table so to speak. They were left to face God alone with only his justice. This was very foolish. But so what? How does this effect us today?

Referring specifically to this issue regarding the exclusivity of God's Mediator, God issues this strong warning for our day:

Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. - 1 Cor. 10: 10,11

The Old Testament example shows how deadly serious God is about whom he chooses to mediate and commute death sentences, which Moses did several times on behalf of the people. Never forget: All deserve to immediately die because of their sins. The offer of a Mediator is a kindness from the Lord, not a right. Just as the exclusivity of Moses as Mediator foreshadowed the exclusivity of Jesus Christ as Mediator, God's intolerance for modifying the Mediatorship of Moses proves his intolerance for those that would modify Jesus' Mediatorship. Jesus' exclusive position as Mediator cannot be modified in any way without at the same time removing the provision for commutation of death sentence. This applies to those who try and modify it and their supporters, just as it did in the wilderness long ago with Moses.

Believing that Salvation is through the blood of Jesus AND anything else cancels the contract offered by God in the New Covenant (Testament).

    Ok Perry, I'll bite!

HOW does one come to repentance?

Is it just something you do - yourself?

Or is it by the convicting power of the Holy Spirit?

    John 3: 5-8:

Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."

Born again - before salvation or after?

    Hi Perry,

I like your posts. Forgive me, I cannot understand this one though.

1 Cor 10 is a warning to the born again believer to not fall into gross sin.

The example from the Moses in the OT was that Moses was the mediator, agreed. However, Christ is the mediator for us all in the New Covenant now right?

    Hebrews 10:18-22 (New International Version)

18 And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin. 19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

I think you do not understand what really this statement means?

Re generation by the HOLY SPIRIT is essential for personal salvation.

Lastly this statement seems simple to me

Believing that Salvation is through the blood of Jesus AND anything else cancels the contract offered by God in the New Covenant (Testament).

Do you think that the Holy Spirit is anything else other than Jesus and The Father?

    Romans 8:9-11 (New International Version)

9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.

    All the best,

    Stephen

    Forgive me for jumping in...

HOW does one come to repentance?

Confessing sin and turning away from it.

Is it just something you do - yourself?

Yes, confessing with your mouth and turning away in action.

Or is it by the convicting power of the Holy Spirit?

    That aslo, both are required.

    All the best,

    Stephen
