Outlaw - like your 'son of satan' reasoning! LOL

Just want to add that like Homerovah we did the fading, lack of interest thing for 3 years or so. We were never really going to 'say anything' about the WTS. But it's like something inside of you can't keep quiet - deep down you know that to get on with living the rest of your life your way and not the JW way that things needs to come to a head, even though you know the cost might be your family shunning you. I think that's what happened with us. But the freedom to think for ourselves is worth it.

Like Hopscotch, I think our family thought we were just stumbled or something. However, not attending the memorial makes it more clear to them, I'm sure. The funny thing is that my parents have not really asked, I don't think they want all that unleashed. They have made snide remarks to the kids like " why are mom and dad depriving you of the spiritual nourishment that you need?"(gag). My in laws live out of town, last time they were here and we didn't join them for a meeting, there was a lot of fist banging and name calling on their part to the point that they are not welcome in my home. We have talked to them about the child abuse cases, they say "that is none of your business, it's your job to stay close to god's organization". We both have other family members "in the truth", but this organization kind of severs real family bonds, we are all just drones for the society. If I am not there or they never speak to me again, I don't think they really care. They are just ice cold robots that have another meeting to get ready for.

I've been dead 12 years now; except they remember to send me the WT quotes that call me satan's follower.

Currently I don't go to meetings.

Half of the people I used to hang out with refuse to talk to me.

The other half act like nothing has changed.

Disowned me, lied about me, distorted facts about me and treated me as though I were invisible. It got better, however. Most of those I really cared about came out of darkness and joined me in the light.

When I quit the tower, I told my JW family. I didnt want to be talked to like

a JW ever again. And for the most part they respected that.

Since I quit and didnt get fired and didnt make a formal public announcement,

my JW family still invites me to family get togethers Weddings, aniversaries, out of town

    family visiting.

The only thing they dont invite me to is the passover and meetings.
