I don't have time to translate the document, but "the Religious Order of Jehovah's Witnesses" is explicitly mentioned in the law. It appears that as the poster indicated, the law explicitly states that members of that "Religious Order" (to which all Bethelites belong) are entitled to Spanish Social Security, which their "employer" (i.e. the Watchtower) would have to contribute to.
If this information was widely distributed among JWs in Spain it would be a killer. In my experience the Spanish people in general are not inclined to take BS meekly.
In fact, if someone were to translate and post this info on a blog in English, putting together this new law combined with the Watchtower's letter on the closing of the Madrid Bethel (which of course mentions nothing of this law), and the information were widely distributed among JWs here, it would raise more than a few eyebrows.
Good stuff! Lost In Translation, keep us posted on developments - this could get interesting.

Here is a good recap of the situation in Spain:

Very interesting article at the link above.
One quote from there:
This has caused some Spanish Witnesses to believe that the decision to relocate printing operations to another country is specifically motivated by the fiscal implications of the Social Security office’s decision, despite what the Branch Office claims about the reorganization being motivated by other factors such as simplification.
Is this statement speculation, or has the author found some way to determine what "some" Spanish JWs believe?
It's one thing to suppose that they are thinking that way, and probably some are, but the statement above is more strongly & definitely worded.
Of course "some" could be 2, or it could be 20,000.
But as I noted earlier, Spanish people, JW or not, are not very tolerant of BS. This is one country that, more than most others, would have a problem with this incident.

Got a text message today stating that the WTS will no longer work on Saturdays because the end is so near now. The focus will be on the preaching work more so now that ever.
It seems to me this would be related to the problems in Spain and the WTS not wanting to pay pensions. In the US there might be some legal implications in regards to Labor laws for those working longer than 40 hours and if someone is doing work for you that is clearly not a consultant on a contractor then by all means that person is an employee and it has some rights like workers comp. It could also be that someone has threatened to sue them and now the WTS is putting a spiritual spin on their nototiously pharisaic and materialistic actions when it comes to compensation or treatment of their older population. I also heard more bethelites will be let go by the end of June. Another scenario of postponed carreers, children, retirements saving nest egg bulding for nothing, oh well if you call being a special pioneer "specia". At the monthly hourly requirement of 130 for men and 120 for women it still doesn't leave you much of a life but you still have the noose around your neck!
