I'll take your silence as an acknowledgement that your assertion, even if true, is not evidence of anything. I know how difficult supporting your opinion or discussing it can be, especially for you burns. I'm saddened to see that. How can any of us progress if we will not honestly discuss things?

No, you can take my silence as a sign that it is midnight my time, and I don't give a crap. I've been more than willing to lock horns when I am in the mood, and I am not presently. Also, I am making Internet laughing faces at your "concern" over the "precariousness" of my position.

    Good night.

You don't give a crap, but you are willing to make 1000's of words of posts and devote entire threads to the subject? Oooookay then.

Dude, if I was black I would be so tired of every crybaby comparing his status to my ancestors. I've never heard of atheist slaves, unless it's a gulag and the atheists are the masters, and besides, atheist slaves wouldn't be atheist for long. Take away all the cushy luxuries and the vast majority of atheists get religion real fast.

I think that depends on how you define slave. For instance if a christian woman lived in Iran and was forced to cover herself in public upon threat of basically death, I would say she's a slave. It's a much lesser extent but if you go into court you're swearing on a bible, in some courts you go in and see the ten commandments, it basically ensures you're not being judged according to your values. In fact it's skewed towards something you don't believe in. It would be impossible to find a jury of your peers.

The taking away the cushy luxories does 2 things, it either puts someone in a tortuous situation that they can't get out of and they will appeal to any sort of authority. Have you heard of the defense, "extreme emotional distress", that's someone in a dire situation that doesn't act rationally and doesn't think about their actions. The other thing this would do is put the person in a situation where they don't have time to sit and actually think about the evidences for and against God. They just appeal to authority for anything. In both cases you're saying the way to get an atheist to believe in God is to make sure they can't think.

There aren't any atheists. I've yet to meet one. But that is just my personal experience.

    Wait, what?

Saying you have never met an atheist means that you are for your own purposes redefining what an atheist means to you.

I met several, both as a JW, and since I left. Basically, they told me they don't believe that god exists. I couldn't tell you if they were boring or not.

If I were an atheist (as opposed to a black person??) I would take offense at a pissed off theist trying to whip up the partisans for their own agendas..... Who cares what that blowhard thinks?

Atheists aren't an organized group, and they don't congregate to build each other up on not believing in god, just in case they might be influenced to do so. They simply, for their own individual reasons, do not believe that "god" exists. I can't believe it is more complicated then that.
