I know what you mean. It's 1100 miles. He'll be walking roughly 20 miles per day. He'll be staying in shelters when there is room....in a tent when there isn't... There are 22 shelters along the way. My daughter will be following him in her van to make sure he's safe...

As the start of his journey gets closer, there will be a lot of news coverage. NBC has been filming him, interviewing his teachers and him mom (my daughter) It will air on either the Today show or Nightline or both. Not sure of the date/dates yet. As it gets closer, I'll update. His journey starts 3 weeks from today.

Hi CB,
That's wonderful to see the vedeo. Thanks for sharing. I think the young lad is gonna make history. I would prefer that he includes an interview along the stops to a local newspapers around the town for updates on the journey in order to generate local news about the journey.

The shelters along the way have been contacted and are supplying contacts from local media and all will be contacted. The shelters themselves will be contacting the media as well with their own press releases. David has asked for a "wish list" for the shelters to be publicized by the local media, so people can contribute what is truly needed at each of them. I've been helping with this part of it....it has been an amazing experience. I'm learning a lot.
