I am aware of what the WT gets up to, Scott.
The problem is to provide something convincing to a brain dead dubby.
That requires NO LOOPHOLES.
If there is a small loophole they will jump right through it and your fantastic 'evidence' will be ignored, you will feel frustrated and they will have been warned that you think like an Apostate.
You want something with NO LOOPHOLES.
Cheers
Chris
At this point this simply appears to be evidence that the Watchtower is actively participating in United Nations sponsered activities. A pretty grey area being that they can always make the point that lobbying the UN on behalf of their members is simply a basic right they have, something that does not require active support of that organization.
whenever I begin to doubt myself a thread like this turns up and sets me straight
Black Sheep and drew sagan, Your points are insightful. Jigsup, My sincerely apology for not giving you credit due. I did not know that since I am just a new member in less than two months. Your previous post is certainly relevant. I think its very important to recycle it over times to impress new members on this site who may not be familiar with this issue. Please, follow up with the writter of the Daily Guardian. He may need to write a new article to details this hideous membership to UN-sponsored programs. Its very very serious. Ia m asking BonaFide, a former CO and Barbara about their opinion.

...hideous membership to UN-sponsored program
Bollocks.
JWs will view it as sitting on committees to further the preaching work.
There is no UN membership required, or evident for them to worry about.
If you bring this up to a JW, you will spend more time trying, fruitlessly, to defend your accusation than you will have spent making it.
Don't hit a JW with a sock full of bubbles.
@ Black Sheep
Alot of people would not be perusing sites like these if it were not for those "Socks full of bubbles"
@ Scott77
If this turns out to be meaningful and a good thing then give God the credit,
then again if not blame the bloke who posted it on the other site :P (jk)
I just copied and pasted.
I do appreciate the sentiment though.

The phrase 'teflon organization' comes to mind. They tell their membership to have nothing to do with this world, however, they are quite involved themselves -- when it suits them. Hypocrites!
Job 15:34: For the congregation of the hypocrites will be desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery,
Job 15:35: They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit.
What this once again says to me is that while they bray endlessly about trusting in Jehovah, they work behind the scenes with GOVERNMENT, backed by Satan according to all of their literature, to ensure their future. This is actually a wise endeavor; however, so is college for young people. They just have 2 standards, that's all.
