JWs get DF'd if they join YMCA for access to resources that the JW may not have access to otherwise.
WBTS joins UN for "access to Library" - saying that they otherwise would not have had access to it.
That is straight up hypocrisy.
This apparent duplicity is what disturbed the "friends" I spoke to. On the one hand the WTS publishes things like this:

OMG! Again, I am very sick to the bone. Where is human sanity? Imagine a scanario in which all JWs who die prior to 1975 including World War I and II and more recently, those that died in Malawi and during that infamous Rwanda Genocide of 1994, are resurrected back to life and, are told point blank that the Watchtower has been a member of the United Nations. What will be their reaction? profound shock? Total dismay and utter disbelieve? painfully hurt?

Let's see . . . I smell some "new light" shining up from the cesspool of cult manipulation regarding all this.
The Org and its sheep will just accuse us of apostasy for pointing it out and use some loophole to weasle their way out of getting caught in what we know is a web of hypocrisy.
Maybe someone will change their mind because of this info, but my latest convo with a slightly disenchanted JW tells me it might be a lost cause after all. I hope I'm mistaken, though.
It would be totally awesome if this kind of news would shake a lot of JWs out of their bOrg-induced comas, but I don't hold out much hope for that anymore.

You are only prepared to see what you have arrived at, you have to allow for the fact that you may just be wrong in some cases.
I was in the Org. for 30years and at 71years of age, I have to realise that I was wrong on many occasions due mainly as a result of the brainwashing tactics used by the Org., they frown on good common sense questions, they don’t know how to answer them.
They also, always think they are correct in their answers, BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT PUT UP THEIR HANDS AND APOLOGISE FOR THEIR ERRORS!

Paul in the bible says not to get actively involved suppporting governments but accepts we have to deal with them how have Jws broken this?
There involvement with UN is purely with regards to the religion, either for getting aid to congregations, or preaching work, or for information all are used purely with regards to furthering our God assigned work.
Sorry but a brother wanting to join ymca so he can have a workout at the gym is purely selfish motivated.
Paul allows for dealings with 'Rome' for necessity but not for personal gain.
Are Jws a member of UN? NO
Did Paul volantarily write and appeal to Rome so he could be released to carry on Gods work and did he use his own roman citenship as part of this? Yes.
Have Jws ever tried to push UN aims or goals, have they ever tried to gain power in the UN? No on both counts.
YOu can nitpick all you like guys but in regards to UN You are playing semantics when the bible already shows practicality of Gods work allows some dealing with authorities.
They have done no wrongdoing to apologise for.
YOu have no root if this stuff can stumble you!

This is a false dichotomy. The Catholic church is not the only option. If you really want to be part of an organization, there are thousands of Christian groups that teach very similar things to the Witnesses without the UN involvement, without the false prophecy, without the cultic practices.
Have you investigated them all?
Even this is not the real issue. The answer is to turn to Christ as your savior, not a manmade organization.

Does 'be no part of this system of things' only apply to the rank& file? It seems to be the case.
