The spirit of the thread is for information and for posting personal point of view. I think that All time Jeff likes to take ownership of threads and hover like a hound dog and attack others. Don't listen to him he is the one that is "engaging in passive agressive sabatoge" by telling others how to think. His way of dominating threads is so like the WTS by acting like it is doing good but really harming everyone's ability to think for and by themselves. No one should be bullied into stating a belief, hello, those that do the bullying have the WTS credo so stamped in their brain that they don't even realize how much they still are offspring. The manipulation of threads and posting is a symptom, Spike can post whatever he likes, of course according to the posting guidelines.

Spike...
The real modus operandi is not "business", I say, but going by the timeless principles "cautious as serpents, innocent as doves", "Let God be found true …", and "return evil for evil to no one"
Yes most of us once believed this too regarding the WTS motivations.
I think you know this isn't true.....deep down (not ready to admit to yourself yet, wanting to salvage or reform...((I understand))). But your presence here on this forum debunks your profession. If you truly and entirely believe the statement above you would be too busy reaching out to do more and not associating with us ever (not even lurking).
I am overjoyed you are here though and I hope you stay. You can agree with interpretations of the JWs (and many Bible Students too) and still be able to admit and discuss the WTS when they go beyond.

It is factual that the only one who cares if anyone is here is the WTS. no one else should keep you from being here if you still happen to attend meetings, are on the fence or don't attend anymore. No one should be a critic and intimidate by stating you are "debunking your profession" by your presence here. After all this is called a JW forum a forum folks a platform for ideas, beliefs, expectations, gripes all having the same opportunity. Don't turn around and discriminate like the WTS does and prohibit other people's right to think. If you really want to be anti WTS then you should be friendly not hostile JWs are already beaten up alot and forced to keep their thoughts to themselves or get DFd let's not do the same in this forum. Did we not learn?

I just discovered this thread...its very interesting. I am in touch with a brother who has been at Bethel since 1976. He was in my original cong.
It seems there are many rumours floating about regarding Canada taking over some of the printing for the US and the plans to sell property in Brooklyn. I hope I can clarify a few things.
Canada does not do the printing for ALL of North America. Mexico prints the Bibles, books, brochures, booklets, tracts, mags ,etc for the witnesses there and for central america.
Wallkill prints the Bibles, books, booklets, brochures and some tracts for the US, its territories, the Caribbean & Canada.
Canada prints magazines for the congs there, the US, and many other lands. They also print the KM and tracts for the US there.
Wallkill Bethel is currently undergoing another large expansion- it is not being sold. A large expansion is planned for the WEC too.
I'm not sure why the magazine printing for the US was moved to the Canada branch, but the paper cost being lower could be the reason.(Yes, the brother from Bethel told me it was to be able to increase book production-makes no sense to me either, unless they could not afford to keep up with the cost of book production without giving up the magazine printing?)
Book production at Wallkill Bethel and worldwide has been increasing each year. During 2008 the wts produced over 108.6 million books, of which 26% or 28 million were produced at Wallkill. Book production at Wallkill has increased each year since 2004. In 2009, over 30 million books & bibles were produced there.
As for what will be sold in Brooklyn-that remains to be seen. As far as I can see only the "outer buildings" have been sold or put up for sale, aside from 360 Furman Street. The wts has not said it is moving EVERYTHING out of Brooklyn.
