I would posit that violence in entertainment is rarely "senseless," but almost always has a legitimate motive, whether you agree with the motive or not. As far as mindless sex, I would posit that your puritanical stance is a result of upbringing and is not based on an external reality. Sex is a biological function. So are bowell movements, eating, and urinating. Why does no one ever talk about mindless eating on tv or mindless urinating on tv or mindless shitting on tv? Something to ponder. ;-)
