Paying millions to settle out of court even when innocent is not uncommon. You have to consider the financial stakes involved in a trial, even if found innocent, he would still lose.
Many people make harsh judgments based on little solid information.

I could relate to some of the angst and hang-ups in his music as a teenager, especially as lots of it was steeped in JW terminology. Like this from Dangerous:

My take on M J ?
On a human level I feel compassion to his family , the death of anybody. especially if relatively young and it is unexpected - is a sad thing.
I cannot share any personal loss, never being a fan of his music. I admit though that his shows and dancing were awesome. Frankly I was disturbed by his conduct with children. If the same evidence were presented for anybody else I am sure they would be in jail. I believe that is where he belonged.
I wonder if the J W element of his life will come back into the News? I don't suppose an elder will be asked to conduct his funeral !
On a lighter note, it is a choker for all the people who bought tickets for the London shows..I would not like to work in the 02 and deal with all the refund requests....
