I was at high School 1989 telling everyone....."Yeah, Harrison Ford in "The last Crusade"....he says Jehovah!" Even though the movie really was not reccomended for die hard Witnesses...anyone else remember? Was it a big deal?
Remember 1989 when Indiana Jones said "JEHOVAH" was it a big deal in your Cong?

Oh, yes!!
I remember sitting in the movie theater going "Oh, wow! That confirms it....maybe Harrison Ford and some in the movie cast will look into the Witnesses now because they know God's name is Jehovah, but even if they don't maybe others who see the movie will."
I kid you not....

Yes. I also heard a rumour that the name was used because Stephen Spielberg had a house in Brooklyn near a lot of the WT properties so he was familiar with Jehovah's Witnesses. I'm not sure that was the reason but I'm pretty sure it's true he had a brownstone in Brooklyn.

.....ohhh and remember that because my KH had heard about Jehovah's name being used....
When the scene came up our Mama's were so proud because we all knew Jehovah could be spelled with an I.
We all were madly sceaming at the screen for Indy to step on the I (looking back we must have sounded like lunatics)

It's so amusing how JWs think they are the only ones who have heard of the word Jehovah. Geeze, I heard that word as a small boy while attending Roman Catholic catechism classes more than 50 years ago.

I remember it, but also remember someone saying that if the character was suppose to be as educated as he was on the history of man, he would know this name as much as he would know Buddha or any other. So he was not acknowledging the name, in the sense that he put faith, he was acknowledging that the people who built the path labeled that name as the name of their God.
