    Spike,

    I don't see an issue with Us disagreeing on the interpretation of Romans 10:13, to me its not a case of right and worng, but a discussion that hopefully brings people closer to God.

    To me its not about it being Jesus or God because I don't choose between them, it's not a case og either/or for me, its a case of Both in union.

    God is our Father and His Son Jesus is our Lord and saviour, redeemer and judge THROUGH the father, Jesus is the new convenant because the Father made it so, and all the Jesus is, the father is, for all the Jesus is, is throught the father NOT instead of.

    John 8:58 (NWT) reads:— Jesus said to them: "Most truly I say to YOU, Before Abraham came into existence, I have been."

    The key in Philippians 2:11 is the phrase to the glory of God the Father because, as Jesus stated himself:— The Father is greater than I am.( John 14:28)

    replace Lord with Jehovah, since it is a OT quote :) using the WTs own translation rules...

    Ephesians 4: 8 Wherefore he says: “When he ascended on high he carried away captives; he gave gifts [in] men.”

    Who is being spoken of in this verse by Paul? Jesus Christ. Where is he quoting from? The OT, namely Psalm 68:18 where it says;

    18 You have ascended on high; You have carried away captives; You have taken gifts in the form of men, Yes, even the stubborn ones, to reside [among them], O Jah God

    Interesting.

    When discussing the identify of Jesus, can I recommend this booklet? It's entitled "Jesus of Nazareth -- Who Is He?" by Arthur Wallis. It was very influential in my life years ago. It can be downloaded from this fileserver:

    The appendix in the back lists some of the verses which apply OT passages about Yahweh to Christ.

    If one accepts the view that Jesus is the fullfilment of the OT passages that are quote in the NT, due to his role as Lord and Saviour in the New Covenant, there really isn't many issues at all.

    Christ is the chief agent Jehovah uses to fulfill his written Word, after all.

    I agree in one sense.

    John 10:30 (New International Version)

    30 I and the Father are one."

    However, JWs do not see Jesus as I do and neither this verse. I see Him as God, they see Him as "a god". I see Him as eternal, they see him as created. I see Him as the eternal Word of God, they see him as the created angel Michael and so on. The thing is Jesus is the way, the truth, the life. Get Him wrong and you have the wrong way, falsehood and death. All the best, Stephen
