John 8:58 (NWT) reads:— Jesus said to them: "Most truly I say to YOU, Before Abraham came into existence, I have been."

This rendering is a devious attempt to obscure Jesus' true meaning which caused almost as great a stir as the mistranslation of John 1:1.

Don't take my word for it; go ahead, GOOGLE it.

I see Jesus as the Son of God, our Lord and Saviour, the Manifestation of all that God is, simply because that is what is plainly stated in the bible, the rest tends to require more interpretation and a tad more "going beyond what is written" than I am comfortable with.

Here is Exodus 3:14 from the Septuagint, which predates the NT by centuries:

3:14 και ειπεν ο θεος προς μωυσην εγω ειμι ο ων και ειπεν ουτως ερεις τοις υιοις ισραηλ ο ων απεσταλκεν με προς υμας

εγω ειμι=EGO EIMI=I AM.

Then Jesus in the Greek NT at John 8:58:

eipen autoiV ihsouV, amhn amhn legw umin, prin abraam genesqai egw eimi.

No problems Spike-we agree to differ right now.

Now if I was interested in becoming a JW, could you let me know who's name I need to call on to be saved? I have been reading the NWT NT and it says "Jesus" and "Jehovah" yet then says there is only one name? Can you clarify which one it is please?

Spike, you are misleading! Each JW does not clarify for himself...he listens to "mother". You know "mother" would not agree with the statement you made if someone wanted to join!
