Farkel's story reminded me of something that I may have told before - or not.
Years ago - when I was still married to the JW-wifey, my daughter - then in her mid teens, did the 'pioneer' thing. She did not drive, and so would need to get a ride with other 'pioneer' gals.
This one gal - was older than the others in the group - and would volunteer her vehicle - since it was a van - and most - if not all of the others in the group would fit inside it.
Anyway... they would be off rather early - and on their way to the kingdom hall for their 'meeting' for field swervice, the older gal - driving - would veer over to the bus stops - and instruct the others who were near the doors to quickly exit and hand magazines to poor unsuspecting people minding their own business - waiting for the next bus.
According to my daughter, she was none too subtle about this manuever, either. We're talking front-wheels-swerving-to-the-curb, brakes-screeching, people popping out-of-the vehicle action!
I could only imagine the thoughts running through the heads of those waiting at the bus stops.
I told my daughter that they had better tone it down a bit - cause in that neighborhood - it would be most likely that someone would be spooked and pull a revolver from their pocket - and possibly fire at the folks jumping from the van.
