On this comment, If anything Crisis of Conscience caused readers to THINK about the organization they are loyal to. My own Mother read the book, it confirmed many of her own doubts, she thought about it and it did not stumble her one bit. She is loyal to the organization for other reasons than wanting to know the truth behind it, but she knows, discounts and forgives. She said she had invested a certain amount of years in it and her whole life was invested now. At 69, she said she cannot start a new life.
