Reniaa:: I recently found out about the watchtower soceity being involved with the U.N. Take a look at what this says from an article in a watchtower, I think its from the year 1979 on a questions from readers part::
IsittruethatforreligiousreasonsJehovah’sWitnessesmaynotbecomemembersoftheYMCA(YoungMen’sChristian Association)? Yes, that is so. In joining the YMCA as a member a person accepts or endorses the general objectives and principles of the organization. He is not simply paying for something he receives, such as when buying things being sold to the public at a store. (Compare 1 Corinthians 8:10; 10:25.) Nor is his membership merely an entry pass, as when a person buys a theater ticket. Membership means that one has become an integral part of this organization founded with definite religious objectives, including the promotion of interfaith. Hence, for one of Jehovah’s Witnesses to become a member of such a so-called "Christian" association would amount to apostasy.
Notice that I highlighted the part in red. consider that sentence carefully. Put the word United Nations in place of where the word YMCA is and then read it. Here:
In joining the United Nations as a member a person accepts or endorses the general objectives and principles of the organization. If they consider a person to be an apostate just for joining a gym that is part of some christian organization, then isn't it apostasy to become a member of the 'disgusting thing' just to get information from their library?? did you know that when becomeing a member they had to sign a paper saying they supported the U.N.? http://www.un.org/dpi/ngosection/pdfs/watchtower.pdf So, does this mean the watchtower has committed an act of apostasy those years they were part of the U.N. and at the same time millions of witnesses didn't have a clue and they were preaching to not be a part of the U.N. because it is the disgusting thing????? At least the pope openly tells his followers that he is involved in the U.N. The witnesses hid it, as if it were a secret. Nice. I see hypocrisy written all over and I wonder how Jesus feels about it???? He seen hypocrisy in his day, those pharisses had the truth but their actions spoke louder than their words. Is it the same today??? Their is countless information found on the INternet, why did they have to go join the U.N. and then preach to have no part of it???
