But I guess The Chosen One is always right even when he is wrong.

I didn't realize you were so gravely wronged by his poor choice of words. For the record, he did call the officer personally and speak with him. How do you know he didn't apologize then, or at the very least, qualify his remarks to the point where Crowley was satisfied?

This idea that so many others have, that they personally are owed some sort of apology by the President, is what I find amusing.

If you rip somebody in public, you should apologize in public

Why is it to much to ask that he publicly apologize to someone he publicly insulted? I find it amusing that for someone who goes around apologizing for all Americans ad infinitum and very publicly, now refuses to apologize for himself having wronged someone, or at least to make it public.

And while we are at in my case asking that he clearly and without mincing words admit he was wrong about the surge which is something I was a direct part of, and poured of alot of myself into making a success. I mean since we can only expect for him to admit fault and recieve recognition as such when we have directly been slighted.

But I will not hold my breath.

I think that's between him and the officer. Frankly, I think a personal phone call from the President has more meaning. Regardless, if Crowley is satisfied, who is anyone else to judge.

Obviously the Police Union representing Crowely is not satisfied. And I have yet to see any news article stating the officer himself is satisfied. And so far Obama has yet to say he actually apologized during whatever conversation he said he had with the officer only that he had one.

Why is it so hard for him to admit he was wrong with this one? And not with some double speak about a teachable moment garbage.

Maybe he doesn't believe he was wrong. Maybe he only regrets his choice of words, not concluding that the arrest was unwarranted, which is what a lot of others have concluded as well.

    The Prez wasn't wrong.

With the info available so far, imo, the Cambridge Police Dept did act stupidly in charging Professor Gates.

We will have to agree to disagree on that one then Snow.

I don't! Most of the time, these types of charges are dropped, not because they aren't valid, but, because they aren't worth the time to prosecute, since no one was injured. In my state an officer can handcuff anyone who (in his judgement at the time) posses a threat or danger to the officer, someone else or themselves. Rarely will a judge rule against it. I think they should have let this one go to court, and let him continue to make a fool of himself.
