New World Translation, is it the best bible translation? (page 4)

I`m not too good to write in english but I can read what I want with no problem ,I begin to see how the french NWT is bad,I often need to go see for other version like the King James in english even if the father name is not here.

I have found an old french Jerusalem bible in my father old stuff(before TJ) and begin to really enjoy how it is written,and often the theologian can give me an another comprehension that is not going in the same way of the watchtower or the catholic church.(the theologian don`t always agree with the church and they share their opinions.)

I don`t know why but the NWT really really scrap the charm of reading.(too much words for nothing)

I dont think the New World translation is highly regarded by anybody except

those who sell cheap pulp relgious ficton from door to door on Saturday mornings.

As far as I can tell Bible Scholars dont even believe the bible is the word of God.

Its pretty hard to study it and beleive its from god.

The only people who believe the bible are those who have never read it.

Christians.

Once you read it you become an agnostic or an atheist.

The NWT in regards to the OT is actually quite good, but in reagrds to the NT, its bias is glaring and the changes it's made tomake the NT comform to its own doctines is appaling at times.

I personally find NWT wordy but accurate. It lacks a lot of poetical flavour that older bibles have but it reads with a basic if rough honesty.

With any bible there will be areas that when a choice is available in translation, theology of the person translating or those it is aimed at, is taken into consideration.

grace/underserved kindness I personally prefer the NWT on this because grace is not an undestood word anymore outside of a dictionary to the average person.

I use many bible translations to compare scripture. In fact on the whole for debate purposes on these forums I use NIV translation so to show my point can be made from any bible. Occasionally you still get the odd christian who will use 1 john 5:7 in support of trinity acck.

Sometimes looking at the original greek or hebrew helps knowing the word has a richer deeper meaning than any translation can bring to it. I admire anyone who has taken time to understand the original languages.

Like a person who would be obsessively accurate most of the time and sometimes serve you total bullshit, without warning of course. You couldn't trust him or her 100 % and would have always to be wary

Yes, the NWT feeds the reader total bull with regard to core verses and beliefs. These all center on the person of Jesus. He is the way, the truth and the life. Get the reader heading off in the wrong direction ("jehovah", not Jesus) and the everything else is pretty inconsequential.

You demonstarte quite ably how people make judgement theologically rather than with translation. YHWH is the word used in the hebrew scriptures it was men that changed it to 'Lord' not God, God inspired the hebrew scriptures to have YHWH written 7000 times why would he do that only to remove it later? Did he change his mind? is this proof that God isn't omniscient?
