This thread is about people, of any race, color or nationality, who want to blame their ancestor's history for their current misbehaving or faults.
From Snow's persective, the answer is a big YES. However, as long as you say YES to that question, you can never overcome anything. As long as you shift personal responsibility and blame for your own actions to others, you can never overcome a damn thing and you'll always be the underdog.

Herein lies the crux. You are willing to overlook the black sellers, because they were black. But you don't give credit to whites in this country that not only did not own slaves, but who fought and died to bring freedom and equality to blacks in this country.
Why is it that you couldn't just accept the subject of that thread for what it was without interjecting race, slavery or ancestry into it?
If the subject is about a Black or, if you prefer, African-American, then race is automatically interjected into it.

So far, not much exploring. Just Snowbird saying that Blacks cannot be held responsible for crimes they commit, and slavery was bad, and yada yada, while everyone else scratches their heads in awe at the astounding obtuseness of her argument.

I most certainly have done so.
I've mentioned the American Missionary Society who sent teachers to open mission schools.
I've mentioned White Civil Rights Workers who were beaten and thrown into jail for protesting the mistreatment of Blacks.
I've mentioned the little 10-year old girl who learned to read by fanning the master's son while he did his studies. The teacher was an abolitionist who had the little girl write many a pass to freedom for slaves.
However, none of this erases the fact that grievous wrongs were done to our Black ancestors by Whites.
Nothing will erase that.
