Blasphemy, utter and vile blasphemy, against the human spirit. Theirs is the "love" of self glorifying, powermongering psychopaths and their servile sychophants.

ALL TIME JEFF- Very good thread. The witnesses making the comment that " Nobody can really love you unless they know and love Jehovah " is almost like the pot calling the kettle black. It's ridiculous. They make the claim that God makes the sun shine on everyone and rain on everyone and he shows love to everyone - yet in the same breath de-value the real emotion of unconditional love that many of us outside the cult feel for our fellowman in general. The problem with the WT society is they bring their members under cult mind control with this idiotic rhetoric that NOBODY is capable of loving outside the cult ! It's just another form of misleading information to create fear in the rank and file members of ever being around non-witnesses . It feeds into the paranoia and hysteria the GB keeps implanting in witnesses minds.
It's like " Oh No ! If we open ourselves up to " worldly " people's love we will be hurt and damaged ! " Nothing could be further from the truth. In actual reality - the chances of being screwed over by fellow witness cult members is FAR GREATER than being shafted by non-witness people ! I've actually had much deeper unconditional friendships outside the witnesses after I left 6 years ago. So the GB is just trying to control witnesses once again . What else is new ? Peace out, Mr. Flipper

"without Jehovah, the Ultimate in love, none can know love at all"
Kind of funy. I mean, what about the billions of people who know nothing about jehovah? Millions of families in india, russia, china and many other countries enjoy lovein relationships, and have for centuries without knowing about the catholic/wt god jehovah. It's only inked letters on paper, after all. Jehovah does absolutely nothing. Even the wt says that he's sleeping, i mean resting.

Isn't it nice how whenever someone starts a thread to make a point about some absurdity in the Watchtowers teachings... Spike always comes along and illustrates that point to show lurkers just how the absurdity works... nice job there Spike.

All humans alive descend from Noah and his wife, their 3 sons and THEIR wives, due to the massacre that resulted from the Great Flood of Noah's day, the Deluge. Noah was a preacher of righteousness and was favoured by Jehovah, as were the other survivors then, by means of the Ark. Without that extended family knowing the love of Jehovah, it couldn't have been taught to their descendants, and on down to our day. Jehovah has the Book of Nature, which reveals his qualities such as love; and His Holy Writ has gone out in full into all the official languages of the earth and many more besides. I dare to say that every written language on the planet has at least a few verses of the Bible translated into it. So, remember: nobody can REALLY love you unless they know and love Jehovah. This is especially true when it comes to choosing a mate for life, for love involves so much more than saying "I love you", even every day. No, true, perfect, godly love keeps each one's best interests at heart, and acts that out in all the decisions of life.

Spike, I was ready to give you the benefit of the doubt, until your last post. At first I thought you meant that no one would know love without Jehovah simply because he created the ability to love. I can respect that belief. People who believe in a Creator, believe that he created humans with the ability to love one another, whether they know and believe in this Creator or not. In this case it is reasonable to say that love comes from God or that God is responsible for all love.
Where I disagree, is in saying that one must "know" God in order to make use of this emotion that he has created (hypothetically) when the FACTS do not bear this out. How do you know when someone loves you? By their words or by their actions? If a fellow witness claims he loves me, but ignores me or mistreats me, is his claim true? Does the fact that he "knows" Jehovah mean he loves me by default? Conversely, if a worldly person claims he love me, speaks to me kindly and helps me when I need it, is his love a lie, meaningless or nonexistent?
If so, I'll take heaping helpings of lying, meaningless, nonexistent worldly love anyday. -

Love is an intrinsic part of our nature. Therefore if you have a belief in God, you may attribute this love as being "made in his image". If not, you won't.

The thing with JWs is that when they use the term "know Jehovah" they mean "taking in knowledge", that is, all that the Watchtower tells them to believe about Jehovah.
If they did "know Jehovah" then they would know He would be horrified at such a statement. What happened to "love your enemies" and "God so LOVED the world" he sent his son. If Jehovah loved the world so much, why can't JWs.
Thousands of real Christians everyday show love, by giving their time to help others, whether in some third world country hospital or school etc, or just their next door neighbour. Regardless of that other persons race, religion or colour.
Because they believe God showed love to them and He expects it to be passed on to others, no matter who they are.
I can see this subject coming up in some Watchtower study in the coming months, where it will be emphasised.
