You know what sammieswife. You just made me realize you may be right. Maybe Americans (horrible people that we are) should start focusing strictly on our own society, our own country, and eliminate all the hand outs we give to other countries. Over the past 50+ years, we have tried to be the nanny for the whole world, and look where it has got us. I'm sure I could cut and paste with the best of you and find the facts and figures to show just how much we have spent helping other countries with humanitarian endeavors....and that's just the government....never mind the huge corporate donations given out for humanitarian purposes. (I'm sure you will find some cut and paste article to prove me wrong in some way to show how mean and selfish we really are, but the Internet is a big wide web of information.) I say lets bring it all home and focus on our own people for a change. Everybody that isn't here legally, go home. Everybody in the underdeveloped and emerging countries...sorry...we're outta there! The rest of you that have your hand out every year....sorry...suck it up. Yeah, then we can become a better socialist nation and pay bigger taxes so all our people can have all the free programs and free services and higher standard of living whether they work or not...but, hey, we don't want anybody to go hungry or do without so those that don't mind working and giving most of what they earn to the government so others can have just as much as you, get busy! Roll up your sleeves! We have work to do comrades!

Who says we can't do it all? It might suprise you to learn that the help we extend to other nations is a very small fraction of our GDP. Your hatred and fear are so sad! Wanting to extend healthcare to all Americans is not Socialism, it's Christian!

How about if we just quit giving all of our money to the military industrial complex, and start making the top 1-5% pay their fair share of taxes again? Maybe start making stuff here in America, and bringing the average wage in line with the increase in productivity? Start actually making America work for all Americans rather than just that top 5%?
