Do JWs pave the way for Agnosticism/Atheism? My story.

If I understand the main point right, JW's learn that GOD doesn't give good luck or bad luck.
JW's learn that success and the ability to pay the rent are not tied in with just blessings, but involve hard work.
JW's learn that cancer and the car stalling are not the work of Satan, but just "time and unforeseen occurances."

They free themselves of superstitions and beliefs beyond the typical believer in God.

This all sounds familiar to me.

But then they go one step further when they discover that the organization they serve is full of baloney also.
This "Jehovah" who wants to destroy 99.9% of everyone is a lie, Armageddon didn't come in 1874, 1914, 1925, the 40's, 1975, 80 to 90 years after 1914, the 20th Century, a short while.

So we scoffed at all religious beliefs and freed ourselves from false ideas, then finally broke free of some of the greatest false ideas.

Do I have this right? Because that's my story.

Hey there OTWO, yeah I think we're on the same page.

Psycho Parrot, good summation of Wiki's take on the Atheist's Wager. Heavy duty philosophy and logic makes my head spin most days. Now and then I come back and gnaw on the bones though.

Chalam, thanks again for your kind words and concern.
