The GB want to be "hip" and to not be 7th Day Adventists. Ironically, they are 7th Day Adventist, because they believe Jesus will return during the 7th "day".

They are "Old Earth" Adventists. That means they just pick and choose whatever they can to appear wise. That means massive intellectual dishonesty and mis-quoting sources, and taking them out of context.

As Slidin Fast said, they have a problem. Still, they can easily spin it to the sheeple as an unknown length of time until the 7th day is over. Serving Jeehoobie on his time-table is the most important thing.

    STFU and be blessed!!

What's the Hebrew word for "days"?? Is there any room for interpretation? What do the most credible Scholars of Hebrew say about it?

So the evening and the morning were the fifth day. Maybe the evening

lasted lasted thousand of years, the sun took a break for thousands of

years and then morning came.. Maybe in the creative days God lost track

of time, remember he didn't have a watch.

They did away with that awhile ago, as far back as the 70s they stated the 7th day is still ongoing. It does not end till Gods purpose for the earth is completed.

Going off topic a bit but I love that with their idea of time they believe Noah's flood took place about 2600 bce. That means the flood took out Egypt after the great pyramids were built the sphinx and most of their great cities. To Funny

They truly did abandon the 7000 year "days" many decades ago. This is an interesting phrase though:

it opens the door for modern scientists to study them and assign accurate time spans to them

Are they now bowing to "modern science" ? That would be a first !

The new understanding is that they were not days at all but "epics". And no one knows how long an epic is. And that each epic had a different length of time. So the 2nd epic could have been 100,000 years and the third epic could have been a million years. No one knows.

They've been way out of the mainstream on this for 50 years. They've simply gotten to the correct point that if the creation story in Genesis is true, no one knows how long the creative days really were and it would be wrong to speculate.

That's a lot saner than the rest of the idiots who still think God created the universe in 6 days.

How did the WTS come up with the 7,000 year length creative day?

By using their interpretation of the chronology in the bible, list of ages of people in the bible, and historical events. They determined that 6,000 years of human history (right after the creation of Adam or Eve?...end of sixth creative day) and adding the 1,000 year rule of Christ the WTS came up with 7,000 years. Embarassingly, the end did not come in 1975, 40 years now.

So the WTS doesn't talk about it, hopes that 1975 generation gets gone soon and no one remembers at all. How many on JWN knew about the 1925 predictions of Rutherford, I didn't either?

I think its laughable that a god that always existed would create the universe on a set time scale as 1000 years or one day and so forth.

I guess he thought he should do so knowing that in the future humans would one day describing his creations into written words as whats written in the bible/Torah. ????
